Ease of claim submission!

Our furbaby has been insured since day one with Nationwide. Have always had excellent customer service, very caring reps when i have called... and now the claims process was even easier online.

Worst pet insurance company

When we got our dog, we went online and picked nationwide insurance because we thought it was the best policy out there. We purchased the most expensive policy that you had to offer. When our dog got impaled on a branch and had to go in for emergency surgery, the staff at the veterinarian hospital asked us what insurance we had. When we said Nationwide the rolled there eyes and said “good luck”. We soon found out why. The bill for surgery and two night hospital was $5,200. Nationwide paid $800 stating it was the same as a dog bite. After appealing, you paid an extra $600+. We spread the word on social media about what you did and we are presently shopping for another insurance carrier.

Attaching PDF in web claim is impossible

Your customer service is fabulous...the website filing for claims not so much. Everytime I try to attach a PDF I can't and have to submit to an email address. You should fix this!

Awesome Insurance

This insurance was so worth the investment. I had no idea I would have had an unexpected surgery emergency. Nationwide walked me through the approval and claim process and I was immediately reimbursed within days of my pet's surgery. I am grateful to have such a wonderful insurance company for my pet. Never before had I thought insurance was important- but you never know when an unexpected emergency arises. Protect your pets- they are your furry children

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
