So glad we signed up!

We have been quite pleased with Lemonade pet insurance. We took a chance to order it because we are first time pet owners and didn't know if it would be worth it. Lemonade was the best in terms of cost value and ease of ordering. We had our little guy for less than a month and had an accident (he swallowed something he wasn't supposed to) and off to pet emergency we went. Thank goodness we did not have to worry about the exorbitant costs ON TOP of the health of the pup because Lemonade covered 80%. Trust me, it is one less worry when you have pet insurance since these furry guys can be so unpredictable. For a very nominal cost/month, we are glad we went with them. It has already paid itself off for a few years and the ease of handling it via app/email was beyond helpful.

The App is simple and comprehensive to file claims. Payment comes quickly, but a human response takes some time if needed

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
