Happy with Lemonade Insurance

I am happy that I purchased lemonade insurance for my dog. It was easy to sign up and simple to understand my policy. When my dog got sick, I was worried that it would take a long time for my claim to get accepted, but it was only about a week. It was easy to file the claim and I received an email from the customer service helping to figure it all out. It’s easy to understand and the employees were trying to make it as easy for me as possible.

So easy! It's an insult to call it insurance.

I am against insurance. I signed up for Lemonade because their pricing was better than the rest and my experience so far has been great. The claim submission experience is easy and hassle-free. It was very clear what they would pay for and the app made it super fast. Took maybe 5 minutes to submit and I was reimbursed almost immediately. I am seriously thinking about moving as much insurance as I can to them based on what they do for pets.

Lemonade Pet Insurance

As far as I could tell, the rates are competitive, you can choose the level of coverage you want, you can buy a wellness add on as well. I’ve only had it 4 months, used the wellness 3 times, claims paid promptly.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
