Totally worth it

Fiona is too curious for her own good- I got the policy after I was looking at a potential dental procedure for her. Ended up using it because she ate *something* that she shouldn’t have and we ended up at pet urgent care on a Sunday night. Lemonade was great with handling the claim- the chat feature let me put the info in bit by bit, so it wasn’t overwhelming and I didn’t forget anything. Took about a week to get everything processed and I was given an explanation and breakdown of costs and coverage. And they checked in to see if Fiona was feeling better!

Great Customer Service, Poor User Form

The customer service is great and responsive. However, the user form is restrictive and prohibits customization.

SO EASY!!

I am SO happy that I went with Lemonade. My JoJo has allergies and has to take Apoquel. Filing claims with Lemonade is easy and hassle free. I HIGHLY recommend them!

Switching to Lemonade for pet insurance was the best idea I've had!!

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
