Beware, they will entice you with low initial rates but jack you up later

I was initially happy with Healthy Paws and have actually referred friends. Now, I wish I hadn't. I filed a small claim a couple years ago and the process was easy and uncomplicated. I have not filed a claim since 2017. My Border Collie just turned 3 and this company just sent me my renewal rate which is 68% higher than my initial rate. This Healthy Paws will bait and switch you with low initial rates and then jack up your rates later so beware.

So Happy with Healthy Paws

Highly recommended! My rescue dog required hip surgery, and Healthy Paws took care of 90% of the total bill. Processing a claim is as easy as uploading an image of the bill, and they followed up to make sure everything went well and that my dog was doing well. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I cannot say enough great things about…

I cannot say enough great things about Healthy Paws. My pup, a Frenchie, has had two major surgeries (intestinal blockage x2 and now IBD with PLE), and they’ve covered both 5 figure claims. They’ve even followed up via email a few times to check to make sure he’s doing okay. Sure my premiums have gone up once but it’s still worth it so that I can continue to make my pet’s health a priority, no matter what the cost. Thanks Healthy Paws!

Healthy Paws - a company you and your pet can count on.

HP has literally saved my boys life. Biggie was a very sick puppy and after many test and vet visits (all covered by HP) he was diagnosed with IBD. Through all the ups and downs HP has been the one thing I can count on and knowing I can take care of my boy and give him he care he needs is priceless. They covered ALL his testing, treatments, overnights, medications, speciality testing - all of it. Claims are so easy to submit via their app and they pay out via direct deposit without 24 hours of finalizing their claim. We love them. I am so happy I took the advice to get HP when he was a puppy.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
