Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

EDIT 7/5/2020 I have to say I am very disappointed that HealthyPaws decided to bump up my premiums, possibly in response to my filling the numerous claims. I input my pets' exact ages and breed information to get a quote, and it was $40 lower than what they are trying to charge me now. I tried browsing their website to see anything about premiums rising in response to claims, but the FAQ just has a generic 'premiums will rise due to advances in technology'. So I am sad to say they apparently do not reward customer loyalty in the slightest. Unfortunately my cat now has a pre-existing condition precluding her from finding new insurance, but I will be shopping around for my other pets and I simply cannot afford the premiums even set at the lower reimbursement percentage. I have sent them an email and expect some unhelpful platitudes in response. Original: I have Healthy Paws insurance for all 3 of my animals. Only last year did I have to actually file a claim, and since then I am not sure what I would have done without them. My cat went into heart failure and was diagnosed with a progressive heart disease requiring daily medications, blood work every 3 months, and repeat echocardiograms. None of that is cheap but it is necessary to give my cat the best chance at a comfortable life for as long as possible. I submitted my first claim after owning her for 4 years so there was a lot of medical records to go through. It took roughly a week to review and have my first claim approved, but the company kept in touch and kept me updated on the progress. I had to call once to clarify a discrepancy with the medical record but it was quickly cleared up. After that, it was so easy to take a picture of my invoices and submit a claim on my phone via the app. Reimbursement would arrive within days directly in my bank account. I absolutely recommend Healthy Paws to anyone interested in pet insurance (and I highly recommend pet insurance in general!). They have been so incredibly helpful and quick to respond, and they have made the whole process super efficient. I am so grateful that I don't have to worry about whether I can afford lifesaving care for my pet thanks to them.

We chose Healthy Paws for our two cats about 7 years ago and have been very happy with the coverage AND the customer service. The policy is affordable, filing a claim online is incredibly easy, and the reimbursements are generous. But the company's responsiveness is absolutely exceptional. They are always available to answer questions and explain things, and claims are handled promptly. They are sincerely interested in the health of your pet. (Our cats get birthday greetings from them, and yesterday I received an email asking how my elder cat was doing after cancer surgery.) I love this company. I have recommended them to every pet owner I know. They not only love pets, they show that they love YOUR pet. You won't find a better insurance company.

I've had Healthy Paws Pet insurance for my 12 year old West for about 6 years now. It is very easy to file a claim on their website and my reimbursement checks always arrive promptly. When I've had to call customer service I got a knowledgeable person on the phone within no time. Yes, the premiums go up as my pet gets older, but so do all insurances. I'm so glad I had it because my pet was diagnosed with Sarcoma and a $5,000 surgery only ended up costing me $400. I have a $250 yearly deductible and a 90% reimbursement rate (minus the charge for office visits - $85-$125). I recommend Healthy Paws to anyone who never wants to worry about money being the reason they can't get their pet the health care it needs.

A friend of mine recommended Healthy paws to me when we first rescued our puppy and we are so happy that we followed their advice! Our puppy got sick after he ingested something toxic and they saved us from expensive hospital bills! Their system is easy to use and they provide you with updates along the way! All our checks came in a weeks time and they even sent a follow-up note to see how our pup was doing! I'm a huge fan or great customer service and highly recommend them!

I can't say enough about the customer service we've received from the staff at Healthy Paws. They are extremely fast in adjudicating claims and generating reimbursements. We had the unfortunate circumstance of finding out our dog has cancer. His diagnostic and treatment expenses are well over $10,000 now and still coming. Our policy reimburses us for 80% of covered expenses with no cap on total reimbursements.
