Healthy Paws provided accurate, kind, and complete service and coverage for our puppy.

We adopted a new puppy while our kids were in quarantine. Though he's a sweet pup, he has a troublesome habit of eating pretty much anything, and he's had multiple trips to the emergency room. Healthy Paws paid our claims very promptly. They reimbursed us exactly as per the policy terms--no hassles or issues of any kind. Service and care were exemplary. We are very happy customers, and I've recommended Healthy Paws to my dog-owning friends.

Great company, super easy to submit claims

I've had a healthypaws policy for my Border Collie mix since I adopted him five years ago and have had a really positive experience. It's super easy to submit claims, the policy is straightforward with no surprises, and the communication from the company is clear, prompt and caring. One surgery was all it took to make five years of monthly payments worth it! The only reason I can't give five full stars is that it does take a bit of time to get reimbursed after submitting a claim. Overall, I would definitely recommend healthypaws.

Easy claim process

We signed up for Healthy Paws insurance a few months ago for our dog. With 2020 being the year that it is, we had to take our dog to the ER twice and she had to undergo TPLO surgery. All claims were paid out easily by Healthy Paws and I found the claim submission process very convenient - no back and forth for the medical records, they dealt with the vet directly. The monthly premium is not cheap IMO, but it was comparable to other pet insurance providers when I shopped around.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
