Elton's lobectomy fully reimbursed

The day after Elton's first birthday he was diagnosed with lung lobe torsion, a rare condition that requires a lobectomy. He had to have immediate surgery. He was at the vet clinic for four days and racked up a huge bill! Healthy Paws was there every step of the way, answering my daily stupid questions (as I was new to pet insurance!) and reassuring me. When I presented them with the final 5-page invoice and medical report they didn't question at thing. Every line item was reimbursed and deposited to our account within two days. I was amazed! Healthy Paws claims processing is seamless and easy. I highly recommend them to any pet owner I know. Elton thanks you!

Healthy Paws is a great insurance…

Healthy Paws is a great insurance program for your pets. I’ve only had good experiences with claims. If you love your pet like I love my Tatiana, then they are in the best of hands with Healthy Paws.

Raised my rate 300% ($450/mo) So now I either treat my cancer or pay for my cat's illness. Then they have the nerve to ask for a review. Ok, you got it. Healthypaws has a class action lawsuit against them in every state they provide service. Please feel free to email Healthypaw's CEO Paul Morrissette about what an absolute D he is. You can find his email online very easily.

Our dog has had several health issues…

Our dog has had several health issues in his nearly 6 years of life, including a rare condition that required surgery and medication for the rest of his life. He also recently had to have knee surgery, which was quite expensive. We have had only the best experience with Healthy Paws - our dog would be in a very different place without our insurance!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance DON'T DO IT!

I’m writing this review so no one else has the same experience I did with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I insured my cat in December 2020 and faithfully maintained coverage for over five years without ever filing a claim. In January 2026, my cat suddenly became very ill. I submitted two claims—one from my regular veterinarian and one from the emergency hospital, where we ultimately tried everything to save his life. Sadly, my cat had to be put down. While Healthy Paws did pay the emergency hospital bill, they denied the much smaller vet bill, claiming it fell under a “waiting period.” Their stated waiting period is six months, which had long passed since I had continuous coverage since 2020. Their reasoning was that they had no prior vet records on file, so they treated this as if the waiting period still applied. This makes no sense and feels incredibly misleading. A waiting period should be based on when coverage begins—not whether or not you’ve previously submitted a claim or provided records years later. For comparison, I also have four dogs insured through Trupanion, and their waiting periods are clearly defined and based strictly on policy start dates—not claim history. After paying premiums for years, to have a valid claim denied under these circumstances is extremely frustrating and, in my opinion, unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering pet insurance to look carefully at other, more transparent and reputable companies before choosing Healthy Paws. ⸻ I
