Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I've had my babies insured with Healthy Paws since 2015, and for first couple years I thought about removing it because we hadn't used it. So glad we didn't. Three years ago one of my boys had to have TPLO surgery and we just didn't have the upfront money that you're supposed to pay. After speaking with my vet and Healthy Paws they agreed to do a direct pay. Day of surgery came and they were true to their word, what's more they sent the payment over within 24 hours of receiving final bill. What's more they follow up with me via email and phone to see how Chance was doing and even sent him a get well soon post card. Most recently we've also had to get two growths removed on Chance. Again, the level of service has been great, my claim was completed within 72 hours of me submitting the claim. What's more, they've even followed up to check how he's doing since then. I wouldn't change this for the world. I can say that with the health scares and costs we've incurred with both our boys (they're both in physical therapy) the last thing I've had to worry about is whether they're going to cover things or if I'm going to have to argue for reimbursement. Even though our premiums did increase a bit this year, I still wouldn't change them. The level of care they show for pets is all worth it.

Ryker here, a golden retriever. Gonna be 2 in December. My human saw dog insurance mentioned on some pet pages on social media and heard about Healthy Paws. She said it was an easy app to download and got a quote that seemed reasonable. She decided to go ahead and get it but hoped it was never needed. Fast foward six months and my human got some scary news from that vet lady. She took some x-rays and took some blood. Vet lady said I had a suspected liver shunt. Then my human found out from more tests that it was an expensive surgery. What a relief it was to have Healthy Paws so she didn't have to worry as much about the cost and could focus on getting me better. My human took my furry country butt to The Big Apple for surgery on a Tuesday. I got to leave with her on Wednesday and she easily submitted the bill with the app. The following day, my humans were driving me home and got a message from Healthy Paws as to how much they would be paying and that a check would be cut in the next few days. Healthy Paws has been a wonderful insurance provider for our pet family. We are huge animal lovers and currently have two Boston Terriers and we also had two other Boston Terriers that have since passed away in 2016 and 2018. Every single one of our dogs has been covered by Healthy Paws insurance and the claims process is incredibly easy and super smooth, unlike any other insurance company that I've ever dealt with. In addition, they have covered some expensive procedures on our pets and always allow us to make the right health decisions for our pets based only on their quality of life and not the cost of health care. I cannot express how much this alone has meant to us. The staff at Healthy Paws truly cares about your pets as they will even follow up with you on how they are doing. I really wish I would have known about them sooner so that we could have had insurance on our other two from their date of adoption. Moving forward, we will always be insuring our pets with Healthy Paws starting on the day we adopt them. Chance had to go under to remove a mass. I scanned in the bill on the app the day of and the payment was in my account 3 days later. They keep you updated quickly on the status of your claim as it moves through. Full breakdown that’s easy to understand on what is/isn’t covered and why. So easy!
