Rates rise astronomically every year!
I live in New England, in the Boston area. I understand that it is an expensive place to live, but there are a LOT of dogs. My premium has gone up $80 in the last 2 years. Every May, it's been going up an average of $20–30.
What they tell you is that, sure, they will never raise premiums because you use the insurance, but they raise it like hell if other people use it.
I have been paying into Healthy Paws for 7 years, my adopted dog is 10 years old, so will be virtually ineligible at other insurance companies. I am hoping to retire soon; trying to afford over $100/month for my dog after paying in for so many years is scaring me to death.
