If You Have Pets, You Must Have Insurance

I adopted 3 rescue kittens when they were 4 weeks of age in 2017. After I got them home, I searched online for pet insurance (this is the first time I have had pets) and Healthy Paws had good online reviews so I went with them. It's a good thing I did, one of the rescues (Mittens) recently developed bladder stones (she's only 2.5 years old) and the vet said surgery was the only option. With Healthy Paws insurance, my final out of pocket cost was $1,600 on a $6,300 vet bill. Getting pet insurance was probably the smartest decision I've made -- the monthly premiums are quite low for the 3 but when a health issue arrives, you will be so grateful that you have insurance. Healthy Paws processes the claims very quickly (it's all done online) and it couldn't be easier. A+++ all the way. I (and Mittens) really appreciate Healthy Paws!

Have had a policy for one pet for…

Have had a policy for one pet for years; payments made through monthly debit by the company; my payment account information has never changed; last month I received an email on the date payment was due "Your account has been suspended". said my bank payment had been declined; I checked, no, it had not, it hadn't been presented; went to my account on the website, entered my payment information it kept stating "unsuccessful". Then I checked my bank, payment had been made; emailed them & they called back & said it was a system error, not to worry. This month I rec'd an email Cancellation of Policy Notification due to "non-payment". I called them, they asked that I go to the account page on their website & enter the payment information. I did, it was immediately paid. The rep said she would talk to the appropriate dept about the issue; I asked that she get back to me since it happened 2 months in a row after years of no problem. Next contact I received was in USPS "Pet Health Notice of Cancellation". dated same date I spoke with the rep; giving me less than 30 days til policy expiration. Does this company start canceling policies after they've been in force for a few years, consistently paid, zero claims, because they assume that the longer the hold the policy the more likely it is that a claim will eventually be submitted? Are they operating in good faith?

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

There are no words that can express my gratitude for Healthy Paws. My cat swallowed a long ribbon. They had to surgically remove it from her intestines. Healthy Paws covered everything. There was NO delay in getting the reimbursement. I have no idea what we would have done if we didn’t have insurance. Her surgery was around $5000. I am so thankful we got insurance and that we went with Healthy Paws.
