Total scam. Cheap at first

I know many negative reviews you can tell are from irrational people, but trust me this is not. I started with healthy paws 3 years ago. at 8 weeks old I signed my Labrador Retriever up for $48 a month. After the first year the rate went up to $74 a month. Fast forward to this year the new rate is $98 a month for a healthy 3 year old Lab. No changes to coverages were made. No major claims. My 8 year old Bulldog is insured with Trupanion and as expected the rates go up about $2 or $3 a month. Not $25+ a month increases every year like Healthy Paws. My 8 year old English Bulldog's insurance is now cheaper than my Lab's. Disgraceful. The company is a complete bait and switch offering low rates and quickly jacking them up so lazy customers don't leave. Be warned and shop else where so you're not as mad as me 2 years later trying to insure a 3 year old dog with another company.

Discriminatory Company

Discriminatory Company I requested a quote for my 3yo 40lb (spayed, not that they asked, so that's interesting, being that unaltered animals have more health problems, but I guess that's not important to their quotes) dog. As a pitbull, she was quoted $63/mo. As a mixed breed, it was $34/mo. I had read of other reviews that it is "based on your zip code." Although, here in rural Michigan, I had the same quote as my old zip code in Chicago. So, that's obviously not true. Will be going with another company that isn't discriminatory of certain breeds. Lesson learned!

My cat had two unexpected surgeries due to swallowing foam rubber.Needless to say the cost was significant. I filed the claim the day after my final bill came in. I had a question so I called. The representative told me exactly how to do it online. It could not have been simpler And two days later I was notified the amount that I will be getting paid minus my deductible and co-pay.I was absolutely amazed how simple and quick the process was.

I highly recommend Healthy Paws

I got Healthy Paws Pet insurance a little over four years ago for my dog Jax who I adopted. This January he got very sick with a rare condition called Sterile Nodular Panniculitis. He was in the hospital for a week, had surgery and is on all kinds of medicine. His treatment is ongoing. The costs for all was so high. I don’t know what I would have done without Healthy Paws. They covered 90 % of all costs indicated in my contract after my deductible. Claims were processed quickly, customer service so helpful for my many questions and payment made quickly. I highly recommend Healthy Paws Pet Insurance.
