I am a dog mom. I take this job as seriously as being a daughter, sister, aunt, etc. My 2 year and 9 month old Cockapoo is the most important thing in my life (along with the rest of my family). I’ve had dogs my whole life but when getting Ziggy, I did my research to find the best pet insurance available. I searched as thoroughly as I would do for myself, my parents and loved ones. I landed on Healthy Paws and could not be happier with my decision.
When I took Ziggy home, I would never be able to predict anything so scary would happen. She’s happy, healthy, goes to her regular vet appointments and has a very active lifestyle. She has never been left alone for more than one hour; she goes everywhere with me except places she’s not allowed or places she’s been and doesn’t like. She’s the boss!
The night of December 5, 2020 into the early morning hours of December 6, 2020 was the scariest moments to date being a dog mom. Ziggy began vomiting and pooping dark, deep, heavy blood. I brought her into the animal hospital where she was admitted into ICU and stayed for 2 days. Her vet continued to treat her on an outpatient basis the rest of the week to get Ziggy to the point of stable. Not once did I think about money, if I need to move with my parents to pay for her care, that’s what would happen. I am willing to do anything for my baby, including donating my limb if it helped her.
I was in total panic for a week, maxed out all my credit and debit cards. The hospital and vet saved Ziggy and Healthy Paws saved me! Not only did they take my claim and process it so quickly, I had about 50% of all my unforeseen expenses back into my debit account. Not to mention, I got a follow up email asking how Ziggy was feeling and that Healthy Paws was sending her a hug! Health Insurance Companies for people usually are the ones to deny claims and make life difficult and Healthy Paws was no nonsense! If you get a fur baby, Healthy Paws is the BEST investment. Ziggy is stable and doing better and I am so grateful to know in an emergency, Healthy Paws has both our backs!

Incredible experience! They processed my claim in TWO DAYS and were so caring and compassionate in their communication. Submitting a claim was as easy as uploading two medical records. It took less than five minutes.
Details: My beagle mix was attacked during a walk by an unleashed dog. It was horrific, his back leg got mauled, he lost a tooth in the scrap, and the bill came out to just under $2000. I submitted my claim, and within TWO DAYS, Healthy Paws had reviewed my claim and informed me that a check for 80% (minus the $250 yearly deductible) was on its way. I almost cried, the dog attack was so awful and the claim process was so easy.
I just uploaded the vet invoice, and the medical info sheet, and while this was not necessary, I included pictures of the wounds. The site was very easy to use and I had no problems uploading the attachments.
A week later, I received a message from a representative asking how my beagle-mix was doing. My check arrived very quickly.

Wonderful company. Easy to deal with. Customer Service is excellent. Turnaround time for reimbursement is fast. Just snap a picture of bill and send it via the app. Easy!!
My first Boston had serious eye surgery when she was about 3 months old. At the time I learned about Pet Insurance and swore I would get it with the next pup. Then came Darwin 10 years later and immediately got insurance. He is a deaf and rambunctious Boston. Within the first month he scratched his eye. Within 4 months he swiped a bunch of grapes and within 6 months his nasal passages grew and closed enough for him to have major surgery to open up his nasal passages and elongated palette to breath better. As well as deformed dewclaws that had to be removed. Pet insurance covered it all! So worth it! Highly recommend healthy pets for your animals.

Healthy Paws is the absolute best!
Healthy Paws is the absolute best! The customer service is outstanding. They cover 80% of costs, including prescriptions, (after deductible of course). To submit claims, just snap a picture and press send. That's it. They send a reimbursement check within a week. I could not be happier with them.
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
