Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I've had pet insurance with Healthy Paws since March of 2018 and luckily we have a healthy dog, so we have not made any claims to date. The initial policy cost $43.23/month and every year there's been an exorbitant price increase. I just received notification that beginning in March, my premium will increase to $92.17/month! So, within three years my dog's policy went from $518.76/year to $1106.04/year... That's practically a 100% increase...IN THREE YEARS. What a racket.

We have been with Healthy Paws since 2013 and they have been great. Sadly 1 of my 3 pups has had to have a splenectomy, was diagnosed with copper storage disease which requires daily medication and most recently had to have emergency surgery for a bleeding tumor in her liver. Healthy Paws has made these very stressful situations easier to handle because our claims are very easy to submit using their app and are processed very quickly. For the routine medication claims I submit they are sometimes processed within hours. We are very happy that we chose Healthy Paws.

We have had Healthy Paws since we adopted Ahsoka five or so years ago, and they have made her life so much better than it would have been otherwise. Our poor girl has had a rough pandemic: she pulled off the tip of her tail and needed it repaired/docked, she sprained an ankle zooming, and more recently, she developed a cancerous lump AND a herniated disc. Healthy Paws helped us cover all that without needing to make the tough decisions between getting the best care and saving for human medical emergencies during a global pandemic.

Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver (literally) for our sweet little pug, Rosie. We got her as a puppy and thankfully we chose healthy paws as our pet insurance. Within her first year she had a major seizure and was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis. She has an excellent neurologist who has been able to keep her seizures under control with lots of medications but it is VERY expensive. We call Rosie our million dollar pug — she almost 3 years old and still living a happy, nearly seizure-free life thanks to Healthy Paws. I recommend them to everyone I know! Their customer service is excellent and it’s so easy to submit claims and get reimbursed. I wish my own health insurance was this good!
