Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I bought insurance for my new pup cause he is very rambunctious and full of energy. Even though I keep a close eye on him, I can't always watch him. Boy am I glad I did. I have already saved thousands in Vet bills in under a year! He swallowed a foreign object and had to have emergency surgery which would have been $3,000+ out of pocket. Healthy Paws covered 90% minus my deductible saving me thousands. Check arrived in about 10 days. Will continue to carry insurance and very happy with their service. Brian, Mount Dora FL

I agree with the TON of clients who are arguing the increase in rates. My monthly rate just increased by $30 per month for one dog and I have not submitted ANY substantial claims and she is 7.5 years old. They responded that it was due to the increase in claims filed in my state and basically they spread the costs across their customers. They do not take into account long term customers nor those who have not had any incidents yet dutifully pay the premium monthly. I will be shopping!

I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on Healthy Paws. I have two corgis - one of who had two torn knee ligament (CCL). Healthy Paws didn’t end up helping us with either of them. Our dog was checked on a couple months before the incident because she was limping but turned out she was fine but because of that Healthy Paws said it was a pre-existing injury so they didn’t help us out. So we shelled out 4K next thing we know 8 months after full recovery she blew out the other knee (TPLO). This time healthy paws told us to “Read the fine print”… that is your dog had a TPLO or CCL previously they wouldn’t cover the cost of a second surgery.. which was absolutely crazy. And I’m not even sure they ever helped us with anything.. total waste of time and money. Their customer service was terrible as well. Company based off lies and deceit… do yourself a favor and don’t give them your money.

All of the recent claims I have made have been processed quickly and reimbursed even quicker (often within 24 hours). After his recent surgery, the Healthy Paws team even followed up to check on his recovery!
