Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Healthy Paws is truly an unbeatable health insurance plan for your furry family members. Before Healthy Paws, my dogs had a plan from another company. After filling out explicit and time-consuming forms for each occurrence and waiting weeks, the reimbursement would finally come. But, it wasn't a reimbursement based on what my vet actually charged. It was a reimbursement based on what some unknown vets in another state would have, perhaps, charged. And, when one of my beloved girls got cancer? They stopped paying mid treatment because the policy renewed and that pushed her diagnosis into the pre-existing condition phase. They never paid another penny on her treatments or anything related to them. We finished the treatments out of pocket and had her for another thankful year. When I called Healthy Paws, I had a few more questions than I asked the first company. The representative was wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. We chose them for our new dogs and I have never entertained the thought of changing companies. They base their reimbursement on exactly what my vet charges. And submitting a claim couldn't possibly be easier. With their app, you simply take a photo of the bill and press send. That's it. Not one form to fill out, and reimbursement is incredibly fast. Some health insurance companies will pay a certain amount for office calls and/or routine care. Healthy Paws does not (at least not in our plan). But, in the end, when we have had an unexpected expense (surgeries, diagnostics, expensive medications, emergency care ... ), the bottom financial line has been so much better. The peace of mind, alone, is worth more than I can say. The dogs we have today, and the ones to come, will always have Healthy Paws. I simply couldn't be happier with this company.

Healthy Paws has been very fast with its claims with no issues. They cover what they say they cover and I haven't had any problems with its service. We have used their service for about 5 years now and would recommend them highly.

Our 4 year old Golden Retriever had to have both rear acl's repaired. We were very concerned for her as she means so much to us. Luckily, we had Healthy Paws Insurance which helped us cover 80% of her surgery costs. They handled her claim within a few days of submission and sent us a check within a week. They covered all of her expenses which included her harness, collar, pills, bandages, etc. They were fantastic and without them we don't know what we would have done. Thank you Healthy Paws.

We have the best lab/shep mix dog in the world. Our girl, Zoe, came to us New Year's Eve 2020 and was supposed to be a 2 week foster -- we failed miserably. No way could we give her up. A few months before her first birthday we noticed she would limp after extended running or playing with other dogs. We took her to our vet and he diagnosed her with ununited anconeal process and urged us to take her to an ortho specialist. We did so and after a CT scan, ortho diagnosed her with "bilateral fragmented medial coronoid process of the ulna with secondary elbow osteoarthritis, bilaterally (BOTH LIMBS). We took her for surgery (ulnar ostectomy - bilaterally) on a Monday - which lasted over 3 hours. She was hospitalized overnight. On Tuesday, we picked her up and paid our bill (over $10k up front). I submitted a claim to Healthy Paws on Tuesday and sent Zoe's medical records on Wednesday. On Friday I received an email that Zoe's claims were approved and on Monday the money (80%) was transferred into my bank account. It didn't even take a full week from the time of her surgery for Healthy Paws to handle everything. I am shocked to see a company this responsive and am so thankful we signed up for Healthy Paws. Day by day Zoe is betting better but will need care from time to time for the rest of her life. I'm glad we're in good hands. The coverage is outstanding and the claim processing time is unbelievable. If you're considering pet insurance (and you should!), please go with Health Paws. They are truly the best. I can't more strongly recommend a company.

Healthy Paws has helped us with the numerous unexpected health issues our lab puppy - who is now 1 year old- has had. They respond to our claims quickly and respond well on the phone. Our vet recommended them and I am so grateful that she did.
