Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

After researching many pet insurance companies, I found Healthy Paws to be the best choice for me. I couldn't be happier with them to be honest. My puppy recently ate what was suspected to be a piece of glass. I took her to be examined by our local vet where an x-ray revealed what I suspected. Our local vet could not handle the surgery that was needed so another animal hospital was involved. I submitted claims to Healthy Paws and was very pleased that they responded quickly in spite of it being a weekend. Within a few days, they had processed the claims and said they were covering what my policy stated. I was very relieved, of course. They have since been in touch to see how my puppy is recuperating. How could you ask for anything more? If you want great customer care and a good insurance policy for your fur baby, look no further. Healthy Paws is great!

After an x-ray at the local vet, and emergency exploratory surgery with a specialized surgeon, claims were submitted and Healthy Paws kept in contact throughout the entire claims processing period. I was extremely happy with the fact that Healthy Paws covered the claims at the rate of reimbursement and deductible I had chosen. They have even been in contact to check on my puppy's recuperation. That is good customer service! I did a lot of researching of pet insurers before choosing Healthy Paws. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about them. So very glad I went with them.

We did a huge amount of research on pet insurance companies and decided HealthyPaws appeared to have the best reviews and best policy for us. From Day 1 they quickly covered every expected expense without question - these were mostly smaller vet adventures: ear infections, some tummy issues, etc. However recently, our dog surprised us by swallowing two mini tennis balls whole. This led to x-rays, a scope, and eventual major stomach surgery with a hospital stay. This was our first major claim to HealthyPaws but they quickly reviewed this, approved the necessary expenses and reimbursed me almost immediately. Additionally, they reached out to check on the status of our dog. I have been incredibly impressed with this company and have referred them to countless friends with animals. We got pet insurance mostly for peace of mind but having HealthyPaws behind us as we made major health decisions for our dog was extremely comforting.

In January 2021, I enrolled in a health insurance plan with Healthy Paws for my pug, Oscar, who was three year old at the time. I was recommended Healthy Paws by a friend who has a Boston Terrier. This past January 5, 2022, after an episode of acute vomiting followed by several days of barely eating, Oscar was hospitalized at VCA West Los Angeles Hospital. He stayed there for five nights and was diagnosed with multicentric lymphoma which came as a shock to me. After the diagnosis was made, Oscar was treated with prednisone and an Elspar injection. Five weeks later, he is now in remission. Last January 26, I submitted his hospital bill to Healthy Paws. Less than ten days later, I received a check from them for a five figure amount. I have only one thing to say: thank you Healthy Paws!
