Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I had a wonderful experience with Healthy Paws covering emergency veterinary expenses for my 14 year old Doberman recently. I suspected she was experiencing a Urinary Tract Infection and knew she needed to be seen quickly to prevent it from spreading. I was able to take her to my vet to receive the highest quality care, all the while knowing her policy with Healthy Paws would stand behind us and cover the cost of her treatment; allowing me to focus on tending to her medical needs and ensuring she felt better as soon as possible. I have had all my rescue dogs covered with Healthy Paws since 2010 and their genuine concern for the cause of finding homes for homeless pets and providing a way for pet parents to pay for sometimes expensive medical care is above and beyond. I would highly recommend them!

We have been with Healthy Paws ever since adopting our dog in 2015. They have been nothing short of outstanding by providing transparent, understandable, and user friendly service. Most recently our dog needed emergency care, which required us to submit a claim. Within 48 hours the claim was processed and we received reimbursement within the week. We have also referred Healthy Paws to other family members who also have had great experience with them!

After experiencing so many health issues with my childhood family dog, I was convinced that I would always have pet insurance for every animal I ever own; and advocated for others to do the same. Unfortunately, my experience with Healthy Paws has since caused me to do a complete 180 turn on my opinion. Since becoming a loyal customer in 2015, I can count on less than one hand how many claims were actually covered. With monthly premiums increasing to $150 in 2021, Healthy Paws covered all of $4 out of $200 on my dogs' most recent medical issue. After sinking over $1,000 in just 2021 on one dogs' premium, I was expecting more. But no, they are almost worse than human health insurance companies. Upon cancelling my policy, I was met with the worst customer service after having to call 4 different times to get my monthly premium back. You're better off just setting up a savings account and putting the premium aside in there.

Maia, our 1 year old puppy, had to be taken to see an emergency vet due to some stomach issues. Fortunately, after blood tests and x-rays, it was determined that Maia's heath issues were not serious. I filed a claim to Healthy Paws and it was processed within 1 to 2 days. Since meeting the deductible, I received a check within 10 days for reimbursement for the claim. The claim process was very easy to complete and the response time was incredibly fast. Maia is back to her energetic self and I feel at ease knowing that I have pet insurance that I can rely on.

Our one-year-old kitty was taken suddenly ill recently with repeated bouts of vomiting, and loss of energy. We took him to our local vet. They x-rayed him, gave him IV fluids and medication and kept him overnight. By the next day he was thankfully feeling much better. We took him home and he was quickly back to his former self. We notified Healthy Paws, sent in the vet's notes, and quickly received a response that they would cover 80% of the bill, minus a small copay. Sure enough, a few days later we received a check in the mail. A few days after that, they even called to enquire as to how he was doing! We couldn't be happier with this insurance company. Worth every penny! Thanks!
