My dog Penny recently had a very expensive surgery and healthy paws covered the entire cost of the surgery (minus deductible and my individual plan of 80% coverage). I received the money In my account within a week of filing the claim. It was genuinely so comforting knowing I didn’t have to worry about the care I got for my pet. I’ve never had a single issue with their refund/coverage policies and this one surgery was worth almost 7 years of the monthly payment I make, so it’s 100% worth the money. Thank you again so much for your care and attention!

Best Choice Ever Made!

Best pet insurance company that I've come across. Easy to work with, easy process, the rules are clear. If it weren't for their service, my pup would've been paralyzed for life. Highly recommended.

I would give it zero stars

I would give it zero stars, if I could. They trap you like this: They say we cover every new issue, but not pre-exisitng issues. Then they say you have to pay yourself and we will "reimburse" you. Then, when you pay and submit the claim, suddenly everything is pre-existing! Unless your pet breaks a leg or something, they will not cover anything. Don't fall into the trap of the "top rated" pet insurance!!

100% Recommend Healthy Paws!

I always tell new pet people that if they can afford it, get pet insurance as soon as possible. When we adopted our dog Luna in 2014, I researched all the major insurance companies. The main differences among the companies had to do with cost, the deductible (per condition versus annual), and the approval process. I decided on Healthy Paws because while new to us, our dog was an adult and formerly stray, so I didn't know what we'd face in the first year (injuries, various illnesses??), so an annual deductible made more sense to me, in case there were multiple different vet visits. While Healthy Paws doesn't offer a pre-approval, it's been super easy to file claims. If for a vet visit, their office can email the Healthy Paws claims department directly; if I'm picking up medication, I can submit a claim online. Healthy Paws has always reimbursed us very quickly (like 1-2 days) and has covered dozens of claims at this point for surgeries, medical tests, and prescription medications. I've never had a claim denied that I expected would be covered. Any time I've needed to call Healthy Paws to check in about a quote from my vet's office, or straighten out my paperwork (lately sometimes I've needed to make multiple claims per week and have mixed receipts, oops) -- the customer service representatives are SO nice, SO lovely to talk to, and are clearly animal lovers who are happy to help pet people out. Over the past year Luna has been really sick and it's been *such* a relief to know that Healthy Paws will cover the various tests our vet has proposed -- it makes taking care of a pet so much easier. It's definitely been a good financial decision for us to pay for insurance since 2014; the reimbursements have outweighed the cost as Luna has gotten older and had health issues. I would definitely recommend Healthy Paws to other pet people! Thank you so much!
