Was great, now not so much!

We immediately got pet insurance in 2011 when we adopted our doggy. It was reasonably priced and we had the 90% reimbursement and $100 deductible. Everything had been great until about 2 years ago when we started getting quite large increases on our monthly payment. I just received an email with the annual policy amount and it is increasing from $179 to $668. This is apparently because of a change in the insuring company and an expiry of Californian increase protections. This is essentially a cancellation of our policy and we will have to change companies and lose any protections of her pre-existing conditions.

great pet insurance

During a regular well visit, the vet discovered a growth on our 3 year old dog that turned out to be malignant. Thank goodness for pet insurance which covered 80% of the ultrasound and surgery expenses, which means the insurance has more than paid for itself for years to come! The Health Paws website is user friendly and it's easy to submit claims. Once the claim is approved payment is very quick.

Very Happy!

I compete in dog sports/agility with my 4 year old Mini Aussie and recently she suffered a soft tissue injury. Her vet was concerned that she might have fragmented a piece of bone in her elbow and if left it would destroy the joint. X-rays and a CT scan were completed and I’m happy to say that elbows were normal! I filed my receipts with Healthy Paws and they were processed and paid within days! I am extreme satisfied with their customer service and the coverage they provide. Everyone with a pet should have pet insurance and Healthy Paws is rated #1 for a reason! Get it!

Uncaring company

I was a customer of healthly paws for many years. My dachshund is 12 years old and in very good health. Every year my premium slowly creeped up and I was up to $85 a month, last month. This premium was fair in my opinion since I had the 90% coverage with a $100 deductible. However, as of last month I was forced to cancel my long standing policy with Healthy Paws. When I informed them that I was changing my residence from NY to FL, I was hit with a $250 a month premium! I tried to reduce coverage but even at 60%, the premium was $160 a month. They used my move as a reason to jack up the premium. Do yourself a favor and choose a different carrier. At this point, who will insure a 12 yr old dog?!

Pootie is alive!

She would not be alive today if not for the financial help afforded this Sr Citizen to help give my 5 lb toy poodle the BEST of care these last 2 1/2 yrs of serious illnesses. Their care and concern along with the promptness of paying claims helped to alleviate the helplessness I often felt during these difficult times. Thank you!
