Healthy Paws is the BEST

Healthy Paws is the BEST! Our Frenchie has been high maintenance and if it weren't for her wonderful coverage, I would be BROKE! The customer service is always awesome, they respond to claims and send reimbursement checks quickly (sometimes within a week) ! I highly recommend!!! I wish MY health insurance was as good! My new baby is now enrolled as well.

Healthy Paws is the BEST

I was a new pet owner when I enrolled our beloved French Bulldog in Healthy Paws pet insurance. Over the past few years, she has experienced some health problems. If it had not been for Healthy Paws, I would be BROKE! Every claim is answered immediately and the payment is received sometimes within a week. She had a pricey (and scary) surgery last week and Healthy Paws has already responded to the claim and I anticipate reimbursement any day. In addition, the Healthy Paws team is always responsive, friendly and kind. I have a new baby (an Australian shepherd) and have enrolled her in Healthy Paws as well.

Worse policy for emergencies

FOOTNOTE: Their response is below but I want others to learn from my mistake - ANY EXAM is NOT covered. Keep clear of Healthy Paws or pay dearly. "(E)xclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation)." This is the worse policy for emergencies! Buyer beware! I had to take my dog to an ophthalmologist because the emergency rooms were too busy and she was able to work him in since his eye was bleeding. The exam was $499 which includes staining and of course diagnosing it. Healthy Paws reimburse me $60 because they said they do not cover emergency exams. I asked how does a veterinarian diagnose if they can't examine the animal and they had no answer for it it just simply isn't covered. So I canceled it. Shame on them for not covering emergency exams!

Absolute nightmare

I have several pets with this company and experience nothing but headache, stress and frustration when trying to get claim processed. My vet provided written and computer printout of medical records that is required in order for first claim to be paid out. Everything he had I have submitted. Healthy paws came back and stated it is insufficient and they want sop notes. I have been back and forth with my vet and he stated that is how he writes his patients records, that is how he conduct his business and he has nothing else additional to give me. They refused to accept patients records from my vet in order to pay claim stating it is not detailed enough. I wish I stayed with my old insurance company. I would never recommend this company to pet owners.

10/10 for Healthy Paws Insurance

I signed up for Healthy Paws when my aussiedoodle was 8 weeks old. She is almost 2 years old and has had several visits to the vet because of her sensitive stomach. I have never had an issue with Healthy Paws not reimbursing for her visits. They do NOT reimburse for exam visits, spay or neuter, or yearly shots but, with my plan, I get 80% back of what they do cover. This last visit to the vet she had was an overnight visit and they even followed up in a sweet email asking how my pup was doing. It’s super easy to file a claim. I just get an itemized statement from her vet, scan it to my computer, upload to Healthy Paws “File a Claim”, and submit. Usually, I see a reimbursement within 72 hours. Sometimes less. My monthly plan is only $23 with a $100 deductible. SO much cheaper than having to come up with hundreds/thousands of dollars in case of an emergency. Wonderful insurance company! I highly recommend them!
