Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

The mode of this company is to deny very claim. When I followed up on the last claim that say it was due to a wellness exam when clearly the invoice said VCA Emergency Animal Hospital. They are only a 911 center not a vet that would do wellness visits. After speaking with the rep he stated I need to send in the complete medical records for their review. They took this amount and applied towards my deductible. Now looking back at previous claims that were denied, I was so busy I missed it. I just emailed them as the last invoice was for a injury as well. These are types of companies that give insurance companies a bad name. The last pet insurance company I was with wonderful.

I have tried others in the past, but Healthy Paws really is the best. The big draw for them, aside from speedy claims, is that they don't raise rates as your pet gets older and they don't kick you off at a certain age. They're pretty responsive by email, also. No idea how they do it.

Don’t do it! If you have a claim they will deny you over and over again. We took our Dog Starr to the Emergency Hospital after eating Grapes and getting sick. The invoice we sent was clearly from an Emergency Vet Hospital. Here is our experience: 1. Sent Claim and waited. 2. Emailed to find out about the claim and got no reply. 3. We Called to find out why it all of a sudden said “denied” online. The online system says “processed”. Then it says “Denied due to a wellness visit” Clearly the receipt says VCA EMERGENCY HOSPITAL. They are emergency only they do not offer any “Wellness”. 4. Now saying 15 to 30 days for a review of my claim. 5. Now they are asking us to contact the Emergency Vet to get all the backup documentation of the visit. The information is clearly stated on the receipt already. 6. We asked to talk to a claims rep and they said they do not offer that. Stay away and find a company that will pay your claim fairly or at minimum ask for more information before denying your claim.

I couldn't be happier to have Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. My sweet little rescue pup has multiple allergies resulting in hair loss. Being able to get him the proper care to address his issues and give him the best possible quality of life without having to worry about the expense is incredibly helpful. Healthy Paws has been so quick to process claims, literally payment shows up in my account within a day or two. I'm very impressed with their service & follow-through.
