We can always count on Healthy Paws to review and process our claims in a timely manner. It gives us such peace of mind when facing necessary (but often unexpected/expensive) treatment options. We feel confident in being able to provide the best care for our dog because of the clear, consistent manner in which Healthy Paws operates. I have not had any issues so far with the claims process. It has been easy and straightforward, I think since I have been set up since 2019. It has gotten a bit more expensive since I first started but overall I am happy with my experience.

Quick turn around for reimbursement

Quick turn around for reimbursement. EoB clearly explains what is and isn’t covered based on your chosen policy. Rates increase every year, sometimes with increased deductibles. I wish there was a price lock.

Doubled our rated without explanation

I went with Healthy Paws several years ago because of the mostly positive reviews, but I have been very disappointed with their customer service and billing. They just DOUBLED our monthly rate without getting approval and it was really hard to get answers about this on-line. Super frustrating experience

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
