Prompt, Reliable Payments

We have used Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for Gretchen, our 11-year-old German Shepherd mix since she was a year old. We value Healthy Paws because we do not have to be overly concerned about excessive medical expenses for items such as surgery. Healthy Paws always promptly pays for covered items according to the policy guidelines. For Gretchen's recent elbow surgery the payment was made two days after the surgery.

Healthy Paws is hands down the best pet…

Healthy Paws is hands down the best pet insurance out there. I’ve been with them for over 15 years and they have never disappointed us. We recently had a medical bill of over $10,000 for our cat Vixie, and in less than a week it was approved for payment. That kind of support during such a stressful time is priceless. Choosing Healthy Paws was one of the best decisions we ever made. It gives us peace of mind knowing we never have to choose between our finances and our fur babies’ health. Predatory as pets age. Would avoid.

Raised my dogs premium $160 this year with 0 explanation of premium change. When questioning I got the same automated canned reply twice in a row. They were great when my dog was young and healthy and didn't need coverage, predatory now that it is much more difficult to switch providers. Hopefully the insurance commissioner for Washington will step in. I would avoid Healthy Paws at all costs.

Our dog is very ill with cancer

Our dog is very ill with cancer, and has had many tests, and medications. I have been very pleased that Healthy Paws has reviewed our claims usually on day one and completed them on the same day or the next. Service is very fast and it is very easy to file a claim online.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
