Highly, HIGHLY recommend this company!

I have two chihuahuas who are both 3 years old. I have submitted multiple claims on Beau (my problem child) who developed allergies and then demodex mites from the steroids he was given to treat the allergies. He has been seen multiple times by a veterinary dermatologist (which is definitely not cheap!). What I love about this company is the ease and speed of the claims process. I just bring a claim form with me to the vet's office with my portion already filled out, have them fill out their portion, and then they fax it to Healthy Paws for me. You receive an explanation of benefits within 1-3 days after submitting a claim and a reimbursement check about 7-10 business days after that. It is also easy to customize your pet's plan to fit your financial needs since they offer several different annual deductible and reimbursement percentage options. What I love most about this company, however, is the exceptional customer service! They really convey a genuine concern for your pet's well-being. For instance, after my other dog, Bella, experienced an allergic reaction to a vaccination, I received this e-mail: "Thank you so much for faxing over the signed claim form for Bella. We have applied the costs associated with the vaccine reaction to satisfying the deductible. I hope Beau is doing well with his skin and that Bella is not having any lasting effects from the allergic reaction. They are always so sad when they get the inflammation around their face, but it s

Gratitude.

I am so grateful to have found this insurance company for my pup. She's a 1.5 year old sweet little pom. I started out with the 'ASPCA' insurance but came to find out they don't cover anything congenital and they aren't even part of the ASPCA--they just bought the name. Lovely. I switched to VPI--got nothing but mixed messages, wrong information, nothing in writing or by email to confirm anything (I guess they had my address wrong). Worst of all, they said my dog was diagnosed with things she wasn't even diagnosed with--they never requested the medical records and made me do their job and give them the records so they could do an exclusion review--the results of which were not in my favor (idiots) and I only got them after I cancelled my policy. By the way, they do not guarantee a full refund--learned that the hard way too. Healthy Paws is beyond awesome. I am so relieved to have found them! My dog just had double knee surgery for luxating patellas--if I had started with Healthy Paws, most of it would have been covered. I wish I knew. They cover congenital conditions. They have live people to talk to who return calls and who are helpful and nice. They have been nothing but easy and wonderful to work with. NONE of the problems I've had with VPI or ASPCA. So grateful. I want to spread the word.

Very impressive company that really cares

I highly recommend Healthy Paws as a great choice for pet insurance. From the very beginning the customer service was top notch and the claim service was quick, thorough and fair. A little background - we purchased a policy when we brought our 9 week puppy home. A few weeks later, the puppy developed an infection and when we submitted the claim form and supporting documents, the claim adjuster quickly reviewed the info and even called us to tell us that she needed one additional piece of info from the vet. She said she just wanted to keep us informed. Overall, the claim form (which was scanned and emailed in) was processed in less than 2 days. Sadly, the puppy had a complication when she was to be spayed and did not survive. When I emailed Healthy Pets to cancel the policy, the company really showed how passionate they are about pets and a great amount of compassion. Not only did they send a personalized email saying how sorry they were about the loss of our puppy, they also sent a hand written note (signed by about 5 staff members) with short messages about how sorry they were. That is not something you typically see from a company. Should my family get another pet in the future, we will undoubtedly be going back to Healthy Pets.

Most Excellent

I chose Healthy Paws because they didn't have incident caps or pay schedules and they were just as competitive if not better priced than other popular insurers for the same coverage. From my very first phone call asking policy questions through my current covered situation, they have been extremely knowledgeable and competent answering my questions. I have a 4yr. old German Shepherd that was diagnosed with Lumbo Sacral Instability. My Healthy Paws plan is 90/10, with a $100 deductible. I have not had one HEE HAW or BUT about his claim. I have been covered for his diagnoses, X-rays, MRI and his Previcox medication. The paper work is very easy to submit, no jumping through fire hoops to only be denied later. These people care about your pet, they’re pet owners themselves. The staff are enjoyable to chat with and could probably help you with information leads if necessarily. This company should be your first phone call to get a quote from. Recently they have changed their lifetime payout from $25,000 to no limit cap at all.

Wow! What a surprise!

I wish that dealing with health insurance issues for myself were as easy to deal with as it has been with Healthy Paws! I have always been skeptical of health insurance for my pets, but when I got Gus a 9 week old St. Bernard I thought that I would re-think the issue. After reading a lot of reviews and doing a lot of research, I decided on Healthy Paws! At 9 months he had his first medical emergency. Literally a day after the company received all the initial medical history and invoices, I was notified a check was being mailed! I am so glad I not only made the decision to insure Gus, but a better decision was to decide on Healthy Paws!
