Great insurance

Very pleased, got the coverage do what it should, little disappointed with how to send the documents over (they never got my fax, emails I guess where to large with the attachements, had to send multiple time). However, at the end of the day, my dogs treatment expenses got covered. Thank you, for once I don't need to worry about how much it will cost me to help my dog if there is a need for that.

Must have it you love your pet!

When I first got my dog (Kujo - Rottweiler) as a puppy I had heard about dog insurance and knew this was something worth investing in. I turned to Banfield as my primary vet and they sold me on their "Pet Insurance". At the age of 2 my dog started having seizures and we came to find out that the "insurance" would only give us 10% off the medications but not cover any tests to see what is causing the seizures nor would it cover a visit to a neurologist. After learning about the minimal amount that our plan covered, I decided to ditch that and find a new vet as well. While raising Kujo I had read some books about Rotties and all the health problems that may occur in larger dogs - also the costs involved. So I started researching ACTUAL pet insurance plans and I came across Healthy paws. I read some reviews and decided to try it out. After we had signed up we took Kujo to the park to let run around with other dogs and hurt his leg. Not sure what was wrong we took him to the vet and got X-rays (covered by Healthy Paws - wouldn't have been with Banfield) and found out he tore his Cruciate Ligament. The surgery costed me just under $4000 which they covered just over $3000. I would not have been able to do this without them If you have a pet or are thinking of getting one Healthy Paws is a must have for you. I recommend this to everyone I talk to

Outstanding Customer Service!

Healthy Paws has been everything a pet owner could ask for in an insurance company. Our dog required surgery on a torn ACL, and it was a great relief to know that with everything going on around the surgery and recovery, our claim to insurance was seamless and resolved within a week. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A Great Decision

We have both a dog and a cat insured with Healthy Paws. Both pets have had some issues, and Healthy Paws gives us peace of mind knowing that we can always give our pets the best treatment options available without having to worry about costs. We have realized that no matter how good of care we take of our pets, they will occasionally get sick or injured. Even a minor illness or injury can become very costly if special tests or surgery are required. Healthy Paws processes claims in an expedient manner and provides a clear explanations of benefits. Healthy Paws allows us to choose what veterinarian we use and follow his or her recommended course of treatment. They do not require any pre-authorizations and there is no "out-of-network" or alternate reimbursement scale. One major advantage over their competitors is that like our human insurance, their is only one annual deductible, whereas some pet insurers have a "per illness" deductible. They will even review your pets' records for you before you purchase insurance to verify any pre-existing conditions. We have recommended Healthy Paws to our friends and family. The truth is, because of Healthy Paws, our pets are afforded every option for a long and healthy life.
