Lock you in at low price and then scam you with higher prices and lower payout when pet is older
All the reviews here are from people whose dogs are in the pre rug-pull age.
Healthy paws is a scam. They lock your young (and healthy) pets into a 7 year cycle of paying premiums - then as soon as the pet hits 7, premiums will jump sharply, and coverage disappears - and you have no choice
My premium started at maybe $40 a month, and is now $230 after paying easily $15k or more in premiums. Coverage was 90 percent reimbursement and was changed to 70 (no choice given).
They know older pets won't find insurance elsewhere if you shop. So they eat up years of premium, and screw you over when your pet no longer has a choice of price shopping.
This used to be a standalone company I think, then bought by "big business" and enshittified.
Do not buy from these big businesses scammers, they care only about stock prices and profits.
