Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Healthy paws has been our pet insurers since day 1. recently our dog Mochi has major back surgery and true to form, Healthy Paws dealt with all the claims in their quick and efficient manner. They also took the trouble to check in with us to make sure our dog was recovering well. Their app makes submitting claims very easy and the terms/conditions on what is covered is very clearly laid out. In 6 years we have had zero issues and I wished all insurance companies were like Healthy Paws !

Healthy Paws is hands down the BEST pet insurance! They have been extremely helpful and considerate. I have never had an issue and the coverage is amazing. My dog has recently had 2 major surgery’s and they have not only reimbursed me immediately for the costs but have checked up on him as well. I couldn’t be happier with the service and I highly recommend healthy paws!

Our pets are insured with HealthyPaws since we had them. We never had a problem with the refunds and they are super fast. In March '18 our dog swallowed a huge rubber piece.... He started vomiting and refusing to eat. After a lot of expensive exams the ER finally saw this rubber stuff in his intestine. He went through an Emergency surgery and had part of the intestine removed. The bills were extremely high... almost 8000$ but we were at least not worried about the financial part because we were confident that Helathypaws would have refunded everything. In less than a week from the claim date we received the checks in our mailbox. I defintely reccommend Healthypaws to every pet owner! Best money Spent!!!!!

My baby girl Luna, who’s a energetic and fit, ended up needing TPLO surgery last, and my Healthy Paws insurance saved me from having to take out a big loan to help my girl. First there was the surgery costing $4300, and then we had months of rehab (approx. $100 per gym/water treadmill session). Through all of this Healthy Paws were there for us! Healthy Paws Pet insurance is definitely worth every penny, and I can not recommend them enough!

I speak both as a long-time Healthy Paws customer (dog and cat owner) and someone closely involved in one of the national animal welfare organizations. Healthy Paws understands that about the last thing anyone wants is a hassle with their insurance company over treatment of an injured or sick animal. So they've streamlined the claims process: easy claims submittal online and fast reimbursement either by check or direct deposit. Their basic business model seems to be a reasonable monthly premium charged to a credit card, a modest annual deductible when your pet needs vet services, and then no-questions-asked reimbursement (in my case 80%) of the amount you've paid to the vet. Most recently my 9-year-old dog needed her knee repaired for a torn ligament. The vet provided a treatment plan/surgery estimate of about $4,000. I called Healthy Paws just to check if some kind of pre-authorization was needed. Their reply: "Just take care of your dog and send us the bill." So we did and, as promised, they paid 80%. Elapsed time = 1 week. If you are considering different pet insurance options, Healthy Paws should be at the very top of your list.
