Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I have been a Healthy Paws customer for about 5 years now and have 2 policies, one for each of my dogs. When I purchased these policies I expected filing claims to be tedious, to be denied constantly, and to want to cancel. Let me tell you how I couldn't have been more wrong. This company is hands down amazing. Filing a claim takes me seconds online, the customer service is ABOVE top notch, they actually care, (Mary in customer care provided me with the best experience I have ever had when dealing with a company.), and my claim has never been denied. They cover what they say they will. If you do your research and read your policy, they break it down exactly how it is. No surprises. I will be a customer for life, and I will tell every person I meet who has a pet that they should be too. Without healthy paws, I would not have been able to afford the thousands in bill's my little girl has accrued this year alone. Kudos to you healthy paws, keep doing what you're doing!!

Without any warning our dog Maggie couldn’t walk. Long story short she needed emergency back surgery. When I contacted Healthy Paws they showed compassion and assisted with expediting the claim, which was quite expensive. I recently contacted them again to inquire on physical therapy. Again they were compassionate and asked how Maggie was doing. It was quite a relief to have pet insurance in this highly stressful and extremely expensive time. Pets are family and I would and have highly recommended Healthy Paws to protect your fur babies.

Any dog of ours will have Healthy Paws. I can't say enough good things about Healthy Paws. We first signed up for it through an offer at the college where I work, and when I told people we had done so, I got a lot of comments about how we should just open a little savings account and put the amount we'd put toward the premium in there instead, leaving us with cash if Renard never needed it. Well, we don't have human kids; Renard is our baby and treated as such - and guess what? About four years after we rescued him, he developed very serious heart disease, and his twice-yearly cardiologist visits ALONE cost more than we put into the purchase of his policy... and that doesn't even begin to include the cost of a recent stay at an emergency hospital for his first episode of heart failure. After four days there, he's fully recovered - but with a $4200 bill attached, we would have had a real financial challenge if it weren't for Healthy Paws. Instead, I submitted the claim via the app (it took three minutes) and received a direct deposit less than a week later for about $3800. I was a believer before, just because it's important to me to be as prepared as possible to provide care to those I love, but now you can bet we will never go without Healthy Paws insurance for any of our pets. We can be confident and secure in our decision-making regarding their care, and know that we don't have to worry about jaw-grindingly painful choices between paying the vet and paying our regular bills.

I got the cheaper 90% / $500 annual deductible plan to mitigate the cost of disaster. Long story short, they delivered to the tune of $4,300 in reimbursements over 2 1/2 years. Claims are extremely easy to submit and every qualifying penny was paid without argument or dispute within a week or two. Customer support answers immediately and are very friendly & helpful. In fact; they helped clear up some confusion over what's covered (to my benefit) and actually allowed me to file 3 years back (retrieving $900 and $450 for years 1 & 2 respectively). I only wish I'd opted for the $250 deductible for just $8/mo more.
