Terrible service!
I submitted a claim to Healthy Paws on August 13, 2019, for my pet. The email with the claim and required documentation bounced back to me three times before it was finally sent through. They acknowledged the receipt of my information on August 14. After another six days and still no communication from them, I sent another email asking about the status of the claim. On August 22, they replied to my email stating that they have finally assigned a claim number and were working on the claim. It has now been another seven days and still no work. I have just emailed them again hoping to hear from them. It should not take this long to process a claim, especially since they claim on their advertising that 99% of claims are processed in TWO days. Don't believe this false advertising!

Awesome coverage and customer service
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has been fantastic for our 1.5 year old Newf that just had ACL/TPLO surgery. Their customer service support is great and the turn around time for reimbursement is extremely fast! I would recommend this pet insurance company to anyone with a furry friend!

Can't believe I waited so long to get pet insurance!
I've had pets all my life, but recently seems my most recent pets have had numerous medical emergencies. My previous dog had the most.....from hypoglycemia, to ligament tears, vomiting of blood, etc. I didn't have insurance for her and paid dearly for that....to the tune of over $10,000. When we got our new dog, we decided to get coverage for both the dog and cat. My cat recently had a urinary obstruction...we got him to the emergency vet in time for them to determine what his problem was, preventing damage to his bladder/kidneys. He had surgery to remove bladder stones and spent 3 days at the emergency clinic. I forwarded my claim to Healthy Paws and within 2 weeks received the checks covering 80% of the over $4,000 vet bill. I am so relieved and reassured that there will be help for us in times of need. Truly happy with the outcome for our cat and our finances. Customer service has been great and even contacted us to find out how the cat was doing. Highly recommended.
Monthly Cost
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
