I got pet insurance because we had to…

I got pet insurance because we had to put our last dog down because we couldn’t come up with the $10000 to have her surgery and other vet service that were required to cure her, so we got insurance through this company. Then to later figure out that the invoice(s) have to be paid in-full first before a reimbursement can be approved. So let’s say the same thing happens to Pook? How do I come up with the $10 000 to cover it it. Now I’ve been told that there is a company that covers everything first. Just like human insurance. So unless fetch can bend the rules a bit, I’m going to have to most likely say goodbye.

Misleading pricing. Massive premium increases.

I’m very unimpressed with the misleading pricing and large premium jumps that I’ve experienced with Fetch pet insurance. I was told that by insuring my new puppy from a young age that I’d secure lower rates. What started out around $47/month and even though I’ve never made a claim it bumped a little each year until it was over $60 by age 5. At age 6 it jumped to $93.09/month and I just got the renewal notice for 2023 at $117.58/month. I can not offer a review regarding ease of claims or coverage because I’ve never used it, but The customer service agent was rude when I called to inquire about the large increase. My friend uses trupanion and is really happy with them. I’m going to look into them. Maybe I’ll just drop the insurance all together and put the money i would’ve spent on premiums into savings.

Hassle free process 😄

We have had to make a couple of claims in the past year for surprise issues that would have cost a few thousand dollars. The process of making a claim, both times, has been super easy and processing time was pretty quick. No hassle. Much appreciated.

This company is so unprofessional and…

This company is so unprofessional and misleading... we submitted 3 claims that were all denied in writing outlining 'your claim does not meet your chosen deductible of $400 at this time, therefore no payment will be made.' A little while later, we followed-up to look at enhancing our insurance plan and were told that because payments made to the previous 3 claims noted above, they cannot make any changes to our plan. We were very surprised to hear they had made payments because... - we have 3 letters from 'Petplan' stating each claim was denied - no transaction record for any payment received - BUT we have each transaction record we paid to the vet When we asked them to clarify what payments they're referring to, they said they paid the deductible for each of the claims. Now we're really confused since who would they be paying the deductible in question to since it was not us BUT only Fetch/Petpaln. In essence they are only paying themselves for each of the claims we made and more interestingly, recorded each deductible payment as a claim against our policy even though they denied all of them??!!! After 5 years and nearly 9k in premiums, this is one company that I would recommend you not 'TRUST' for your pets needs

Monthly Cost

Plans average $35/month for dogs and $25 /month for cats

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80% or 90% after your deductible.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$250, $300 and $500

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
