Fetch is slow and too difficult to get approved

Fetch always takes the full 2 weeks or more to get back about a claim. Fetch does send emails saying how the claim is still in review, but these emails don’t help and just give me false hope that the claim is reviewed. Fetch has also asked for more detailed notes about my pet’s visit, but I can only provide what my vet gives me. The notes I provided clearly state what the vet did on the date of visit, and does indeed include all the things the vet did for my pet. However since the notes were only 3 lines, Fetch is asking for more “detailed” notes. I don’t know how my vet can provide more “detailed” notes given that 1. The notes already state all that was done 2. It’s already been over 3 weeks since the visit (since Fetch took so long) how will my vet remember.

Fetch's service had really gone down

Fetch's service had really gone down. They lacked flexibility and each representative regurgitates policy like a robot. I submitted my claim 2 days away from their required 90 dates policy and they refused to reimburse the vet cost, when it clearly qualified. They raised my premiums every year even when they advertised no birthday increase. My rate went from $460 to now $675 a year. It's not worth it.

Love the quarterly payment option…

I really like the flexible payment options. But their app is a bit glitchy and I'm not a fan of being told that I NEED to take my pet to the vet. Also you have to go above and beyond to get every document from your vet as Fetch seems to not believe you...in my experience it takes awhile. And it takes even longer for your claim to be approved. One of the things I've noticed (after starting up a new policy) is that they've added a "wellness add on". I'm VERY disappointed (and a bit angry to be honest) that the prices have gone up (just a bit) and that we're actually getting less for our money now. So annual checkups and exams don't count unless I pay you more? Not sure how long I'm going to stick with this company. I used them for years (when they were known as Petplan and a bit after the brand change) and then cancelled my last policy. (Long story). Honestly pet insurance is one of those things that's good to have but it's like car insurance: you're most likely not going to need it for yearssss. In the meantime you'll be parting with an arm and a leg. Better safe than sorry but I'd advice you to look. Also remember that you're being reimbursed: which means you have to come up with whatever money you need first and then try and get some back through your insurance.(I was with Trupanion as well and they're excellent. The only reason I came back to Fetch is due to my history with this company and flexible quarterly payments). So yeah. My experience with this company is a bit of a mixed bag. It is a bit of weight off my shoulders to know that my dog is covered though

Received a bill from Fetch because I didn’t reach the deductible. 10 years of insurance. Zero Claims

I don’t as with Fetch insurance for 10 years. My Corgi/Sheppard cross is as healthy and receive all of his vaccinations. I made 1 claim when he died suddenly at an animal emergency. The cost of cpr and intubation as well as medicines. Cost - $263. I submitted and learned that I didn’t meet the deductible. I had already paid the vet and the animal emergency. I revisited a bill for $263 from Fetch pet. I would NOT recommend them. I would remind you that this is a faceless corporation that does not care about your pet and its well being. These people are heartless. Worst experience at the worst possible time.

VETERINARIAN: Mountainside Pet Emergency

POSTED: | BY: Brian Sarling

10 years / no claims. Dog died and Fetch sent me a bill because I didn’t meet the deductible

At just over 10 years my corgi suddenly fell ill. I was able to get him to a pet emergency where they worked on him for 40 minutes. Sadly, my corgi / Aussie Shepard cross passed away. I had made no precious claims and regularity paid the monthly bill. The cost of intubation, medicine and cpr was $263 which I paid. Then after I submitted the bill for reimbursement. Fetch took 3 weeks and sent me multiple notifications that they needed more time. Upon their decision I was quoted a cost of $263 to be paid to them because I did not reach my deductible of $750. A BILL!!!!!!! This is a faceless corporation. All of the feedback customer reviews are from only satisfied customers. Don’t fall for it. This is a faceless corporation. Don’t use them. Save your money. Over time those $50/month will offset any big vet bills. Don’t make the mistake I made.

Monthly Cost

Plans average $35/month for dogs and $25 /month for cats

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80% or 90% after your deductible.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$250, $300 and $500

Age Limits

Fetch doesn’t enforce upper age limits, so you can enroll your pet any time after it turns six weeks old. Some providers limit coverage for older pets to accident-only. Fetch doesn’t limit coverage by age so that you can get the right care for your buddy, no matter what.

Waiting Period

Fetch’s waiting periods are up to 15 days for accidents and illnesses and six months for orthopedic events.

Exclusions

Fetch won’t cover pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures, boarding costs, breeding costs, wellness care items, or accidents and illnesses that occur during waiting periods.
