Skeptical about pet insurance

I was very uncertain about buying pet insurance for my 2 baby Toy Poodles. I researched very carefully, talked to my vet, read many reviews and decided on Embrace. All companies promised a lot but it seems Embrace delivered. Also, they were on my vets list of recommended companies and also USAA was recommending them. SO, I signed up. I am glad I did as I had some issues with about 5 months and my claim was handled promptly. Every communication I have had with them via phone, email on on their web site have been pleasant. Even if I had not had to file a claim I would feel comfortable knowing that they were covered just incase. Thanks Embrace

Easy to file a claim. Quick payment. They pay as agreed. I am glad I chose this company for pet insurance!

Avoid Embrace!

Avoid purchasing insurance from Embrace! When we purchased our dog’s insurance in March 2023, Embrace assigned him the pre-existing temporary condition of diarrhea. Embrace stated that a temporary condition could be eligible for coverage in the future if our dog were to remain symptomatic free for 12 months from the most recent occurrence. Now, almost one year later, and with no signs of diarrhea since the policy began, Embrace is restarting the clock for another year. Furthermore, they are adding an additional pre-existing condition of dermatological issues and denying covering anything related to it going forward (including itching, allergies, hot spots, ear infections, eye infections, etc.), despite them covering all of these dermatological issues for the past year. On top of all of this, they are refusing to pay for an allergy test that they pre-approved in writing and had already stated that they would cover. We are currently in the process of submitting an appeal and if it is not accepted, then we will be reporting them to the California Department of Insurance. If Embrace fixes this, I will be happy to update this review, but at this time I would not recommend Embrace. I feel extremely disappointed in their service and find their practices self-serving. Embrace makes up the rules as they go to benefit themselves financially. Do not purchase an insurance policy with Embrace!
