Avoid this company- they won’t cover anything on senior dogs!!

Here’s my experience- purchased a plan for $107 a month for my 9 year old cane corso. Had my vet send Kaya’s health records so I would know everything they consider preexisting conditions. I had a feeling there would be a few things bc she’s 9, but let me tell you- they got back to me 2 weeks later telling me that they won’t cover basically ANYTHING. There were things under preexisting that the vet has never said are a problem! Embrace said she has plaque buildup yet the vet has always said she has perfect teeth and does not even need to get a cleaning. They also said that she has arthritis so any hip problems are preexisting but arthritis has never been diagnosed, in fact the vet has told us her mobility is great for her age. And they said any cancer &/or lumps will not be covered bc she has had a few (we had them all tested and none were cancer so idk how they can exclude cancer as preexisting). Also, bc I called the vet office to ask about swallowing something (she had not actually swallowed anything, it was a phone conversation) so they said that’s not covered either bc it’s on her record. Now I’ve been waiting on the phone for 30 minutes to try to cancel my plan which is also an issue bc they pick up right away to sell you a plan. Overall I do NOT recommend this company

Excellent insurance

We have insured both of our Labs over the past 12 years with Embrace. I researched a number of companies before choosing Embrace and it has been an excellent decision from the start. The claims are covered quickly and reimbursed quickly as well. There have been no issues with coverage which has made the process of treatments for our Labs less stressful. I highly recommend Embrace to anyone considering pet insurance. I tell people it only takes one crisis to make it worth having insurance for your pet. Gives you peace of mind that your pet is covered.

Best pet insurance out there!

They cover pre-existing conditions after a year of no recurrence. They don’t monkey around with the premiums. They are super fast. Pay exactly what they agreed to Pay, and staff seems like family. So glad I chose Embrace over the others.

Big fish tries to get over on little fish

***LONG POST ALERT BUT WORTH THE READ*** I had a policy with Embrace for several years. My policy included 80% reimbursement with $300 deductible and covered wellness care also. Last year my dog got sick, vomiting frank blood and I took him to the emergency vet where he was diagnosed with gastric ulcers. I proceeded to take him to his primary vet for follow up and they confirmed the findings of the emergency vet. I gathered all of my documents, bills, and claim form, submitting those to Embrace. Embrace denied my claim citing "pre-existing" due to his kidney disease. I reached out to both the emergency vet and his primary vet to inquire. Both veterinarians confirmed the ulcers were NOT related to the kidney disease. I submitted those letters to Embrace and they still denied my claim. Eager to prove my case, I filed a 1st and 2nd appeal. Embrace submitted for a independent exam in which the examiner stated "the ulcers COULD be related to the kidney disease but could also be related to another disease with similar symptoms." Again they denied me as I argued their position is speculative. Wanna know what I did? I sued them in small claims court and I WON!!! The judge agreed that Embrace's position was speculative and not rooted in facts when two licensed veterinarians confirmed the illness to be unrelated to kidney disease. When I pointed out to the judge that Embrace had also violated their policy provisions, the judge awarded me 3% interest for the past 5 months. So do yourself a favor, SUUUUUUUUE! Insurance companies get over all the time because they know people don't want to spend the money to fight against them. The beauty about this pandemic, your court case can be held from the comfort of your living room. I give them a 3 star because I've had other claims that did not involve potential pre-existing injuries and those claims were paid without a problem. I'm honest & I'm fair.

We started with four pets insured with Embrace and over the years it has gotten down to two. On the rare occasion that I have had to contact Embrace, they are very responsive and helpful. Having been heavily involved in the rescue arena for some time, I recommend Embrace to my friends all the time and cannot impress on people how important it is to protect your pets with health insurance. I could go on and on . . .
