Disappointing and frustrating!

I will say that Embrace has an EXCELLENT customer service team. I have called about a dozen times and have only gotten one person who was not as bubbly and friendly as an over-caffeinated Starbucks barista. They have always been prompt about processing wellness claims for me. But recently my dog needed exploratory abdominal surgery and then a GI biopsy. She was diagnosed with tapeworms around the same time, too. After the surgery, she had a few minor complications and her total vet bills reached about $1300-$1400. It has taken Embrace over a MONTH to even process her claims, and they incorrectly processed the claim with her surgery on it (~$1000). I incorrectly submitted the claim by including two different invoices on the same claim, but after at least 5 calls to check on claim statuses, no one told me that only one invoice could be approved per claim. I figured that out myself after her claim for the surgery and tapeworm treatment was approved for $90 (which was only the tapeworm treatment). It has been a month since I sent these documents in, and I had to call again to get them to work on the claim for her surgery. I really wanted to love Embrace, and until now I did, but I feel like I've had to pester and push them every step of the way in this process. Their customer service team is always polite and appears to be helpful, but 33 days later, I'm still waiting for my dog's surgery claim to be covered--actually, just REVIEWED. I've enjoyed working with them in the past for wellness claims, but when I really needed them, they left me out to dry.

Life saver!

When my 8 year old Wheaten started showing signs of a nasal tumor and then started having seizures, I was consumed with worry. I'm so grateful that I didn't have to also worry about how I'd pay for his vet bills. It was a huge comfort to know that I could allow his vet to do whatever was necessary to get my fur-kid healthy again. I'm happy to report that not only is Murphy healthy and happy, but Embrace covered our claims with no questions. I recommend pet insurance to everybody now!

Pleasantly Surprised

Over the many years I've bought insurance, (auto, health, home), I've been more often that not, disappointed with the payouts, excuses and rate increases to the point that I tighten and cringe whenever I await results of a claim submission. Embrace has in one stroke, dispelled that experience and proven that responsive and transparent service is still alive.

Embrace is absolutely phenominal!

Our dog, Tara, is a 10 year old German Shepherd. She is also our baby! We have had Embrace insurance since she was a puppy but really have not had to use it too much until the last year and a half. She has arthritis which causes her pain. She developed bad allergies and because of her age was diagnosed with a weak immune system. This has affected many parts of her body. She also then needed to have surgery (a tummy tuck) which aided to prevent all the skin and urinary infections. . Embrace has always been there to help us with any questions, explain our coverage and they have even called us to see how Tara has been doing. It is wonderful to dial their number and be answered by a person who is very capable to answer your questions, No voice mail and no transferring your call!!!We appreciate all of you at Embrace and will definitely mention you to our friends with pets. We are grateful we have you and our wonderful veterinarian. Tara says thanks!

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
