Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

Thanks to Embrace Pet Insurance my dog Chela is able to wag her tail again(literally). She had a ruptured disc and a very narrow spinal canal with impingement of the nerves. After a pre-approved MRI and CT (also thanks to Embrace)they did a spinal fusion and laminectomy. It was done about 10 days ago, and thanks to a fast pre-approval process, the claim has already been approved. She is already moving her right rear foot better and is able to wag her tail! Prior to surgery, her tail just hung down limp with very little movement. She is still in some pain, but manageable with medication. The total bill was almost $8000 including the MRI. I hope this surgery will greatly improve her quality of life. Thank goodness for great pet insurance, without it so many pet owners are faced with tough decisions based on finances, not the best interests and welfare of a beloved pet. I have an aging dachshund. I got the policy several years ago before back problems started, anticipating they may occur. Well, sadly they have. In December my girl blew a disk and needed surgery. That was about 7500.00. (Mostly covered less deductible etc.) It was reimbursed within a couple of weeks after I got the correct notes to them (it took longer for me to get the notes from the vet than for EMBRACE to reimburse.) Our new year starts in March. Unfortunately, in April, she blew another disk and needed another surgery for about 6500.00 Again, since a new year had started it was mostly covered and there was rapid reimbursement by direct deposit into my account. I have NO complaints. I was nervous submitting the claims as I anticipated as they were pretty large that attempts would be made to deny. But it was easy and straightforward.
