I rescued a wonderful sweet dog who shortly thereafter was diagnosed with a venereal disease tumor that was so large it had started to bleed. So I started making claims against my insurance literally days after my policy was in force. Embrace has been fully responsive since day one, reimbursing my claims and even sending their best wishes to my pup. I am so grateful, and hope my (now cured) dog lives long enough for the company to more than recoup its costs.

Very disappointed
Normally, I leave glowing reviews, NOT THIS TIME. My 8 year old has a pre-existing condition of urinary tract infections, a symptom of which can include leaking of urine. Cultures have been done indicating a bacterial infection. She recently has developed spay incontinence. With this leakage, cultures have come back clear/showing no growth and not an infection, but Embrace is refusing to pay for the medication to treat this. They're lumping it in with UTIs as a pre-existing when it is a NEW condition - one that often happens after a female is spayed. My advice is to insure your dogs when pups so you don't have to play this pre-existing game that Embrace, unfortunately, has chosen to play.

Easy as pie!
Our Doberman has been having some recurring skin issues, so we've had several claims in the last few months, and I've had some questions for Embrace. The Embrace representatives are always very friendly, courteous and helpful, and the claims are processed quickly.

Covered the Big Bills, Quickly
I have been a big believer in pet insurance for many years, but this year was the first when it really and truly came through. I was drawn to Embrace for two main reasons: the optional wellness benefit (yes, please!) and the annual deductible, as opposed to one per condition. My dog already has several issues that were considered pre-existing, but I knew I wanted her insured in case of any new chronic or acute illnesses that could crop up.
I won't gloss over things - my early experiences with Embrace's customer service left something to be desired. When we had to euthanize one of our dogs, there were some hiccups with us continuing to get billed for her policy, and for confusing her records for those of our other dog. They also sent a notice to our vet that said "We've covered $0 of this service." Not a great impression.
But when it mattered, they stepped up. Last year, my relatively low-key dog shocked us all by tearing her cruciate ligament the Sunday before Christmas. Since she never had any orthopedic issues prior to that, Embrace covered everything from the X-ray to diagnose to her to the hospital stay for TPLO surgery to the laser therapy treatments she's receiving to help her heal.
Now, that's great, but it is what ANY quality pet insurer would do, but they came through when our reimbursement check for the surgery - well into the 4 figures - failed to show up in our mailbox after the 10 business days from being cut, as promised. I called to speak with someone, and they immediately canceled the check and set me up for direct deposit. Now there's no more waiting for checks - the funds go directly into my bank account. They understood the urgency and took action. I've had to submit around a dozen claims since December, and all have been assessed and paid in a timely manner. Has the experience been 100% smooth? No - hence the less than perfect rating. But I am happy with the results and with the company as a whole.
