Extremely Satisfied
Signed my 8 year old dog (9 now) up with Embrace in early 2017. I enrolled my dog after spending $3k out of pocket on my sick border collie mix only to be told she needed surgery at an additional $8-10k and was given a 50/50 chance of survival (she had a mass in her intestines that had ruptured and the mass had potential pancreatic involvement). My border collie mix wasn't terribly old at age 11 and I had expected to have a few years left with her at least. Sadly this wasn't the case due to both cost and the survival prognosis. I held her and sat with her as I said goodbye.
I didn't want cost to have any influence on my medical decisions for my dogs in the future. Embrace's policy was clear on what would and would not be covered, a medical review could be done upon request to determine if the dog had any pre-existing medical conditions, and an orthopedic waiver was an option to avoid the 6 month waiting period for bone/joint issues.
I made sure Embrace received my pet's medical records shortly after enrolling along with going to the local vet to have an orthopedic exam done. This way I had assurance on what would be covered and if my dog was considered to have any pre-existing conditions what would not be covered.
Later half of 2017 my dog injured his back. He got better for a while but had a relapse. The relapse resulted in further diagnostic testing which revealed he had developed IVDD. At this point my dog will need ongoing medical care for the rest of his life as dogs with IVDD have tendencies to relapse into being painful. Thankfully my dog can still have many years to spend with me even with IVDD as long as he is rested for the appropriate amount of time during periods of relapse.
My first claim was submitted to Embrace and I received approval for my claim within 7 days.
Yes the claims process could be made easier (having to have the vet fill out the claim form every vet visit is a pain and each claim form is reimbursed as a separate claim even if submitted together). But overall I am extremely satisfied with Embrace.
