Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

My golden retriever Diasey Mae has been blessed with good health her whole life. She only went to the vet for vaccines. We moved from NC to CA. Long story short, she got very ill suddenly. It's a scary situation just the thought of losing my sweet pea, best friend, road warrior (4 cross country trips). My other little guy had just gone through eye surgery. I called Embrace because 1 eye was pre-existing cataract but the other was a mass under the eyelid that was impossible to miss. It was fast growing..2wks. Embrace had not covered anything to date. I was upset about my golden & didn't understand why they didn't cover the 2nd eye tumor removal. The customer service girl couldn't have been nicer & very understanding of my extreme stress. They sent checks for a portion of Daisey's expenses. They are a good insurance co. Very helpful in a time of need.

Our pet developed an infection in his eye on the weekend, I contacted the 24/7 on line vet available as a benifit through our insurance. The doctor gave me advice based on the symptoms I provided, she was very professional and compassionate. I even received a follow up call from the online veterinarian today to see how our pet was and to see if we had additional questions.

I took my dog in for a routine ultrasound and liver biopsy. It was decided that he would have surgery. The estimated cost was around $4000.00. Unfortunately, there were complications. My dog’s blood would not clot, requiring a plasma transfusion and a second surgery. The immense loss of blood put him in further danger as he needed a protein transfusion, in addition to the plasma transfusion for the first surgery. He was hospitalized for 7 days. It was touch and go, but he survived. The final bill totaled over $13,000. I had $10,000 coverage from Embrace. They processed the claims in less than a week.

I've only had my two dogs insured through Embrace since 2016, and had not reached the high deductible I chose, until this year, for one dog. He has a torn ligament, for which vets recommended fairly expensive surgery. He also has arthritis, for which he's receiving expensive shots. Embrace has notified me promptly when they receive a claim, and again shortly after, when they make a determination. They've also responded promptly, efficiently, cheerfully, yet with empathetic encouragement to my questions. They have exceeded my expectations and confirmed my initial judgement that Embrace was the best pet insurance option for me.
