Embrace | Pet Insurance Review

My new puppy chewed and ingested a piece of his puppy chew toy that became lodged in his tummy, requiring surgical removal. I faxed the claim documents and bills to Embrace on a Monday, received an email the next day that my claim was processed and would be covered, and received a check in one week. Incredible service that I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for pet insurance.

Nothing but positive things to say about Embrace. Tried two other pet insurance companies. Not Good. 11 years ago signed up for Embrace. Very very happy that I did

My dog had Cushing's before I got the insurance, and had to have his gallbladder removed (I didn't try to claim that, pre-existing). Later he was hospitalized for diabetic ketoacidosis, and died 6 hours after his release. I put in a claim which took over a month to process, because they were waiting on unrelated medical documentation from the gallbladder surgery. They denied they claim because dogs with Cushing's are more susceptible to DKA...he could have gotten DKA regardless of the Cushing's, and didn't have it at the time I got the insurance (increased susceptibility is not a diagnosed pre-existing condition). They took my money every month, and I received none of the help I expected when my dog was sick.

The adjusters worked tirelessly to overturn a pre existing condition that was not really a condition at all. They reviewed all the vet’s info and letters and agreed that Hannah’s problem was not ever a medical or behavioral problem. Then they overturned the pre existing on her record. The adjusters were fair and worked hard, with kindness and good cheer. I recommend this company to all pet parents. I feel secure in the knowledge that if there is ever is a claim to be made, it will be handled with the same care. Awesome representatives and adjusters.

A high deductible policy from embrace is the best money you'll ever spend. There's nothing like the relief that comes when the e-clinic pushes a $3,000 estimate across the table and you only have to worry about $1,000 of it. Also remember, people who never file a claim haven't 'lost' their money. Getting more money back than you paid in is never a positive when it comes to insurance - it' means you had something horrible happen like totaling your car or having your house burn to the ground. In sum, get pet insurance, get it early and keep paying it and hope you never use it.
