Best decision

Embrace has been wonderful to work with on our pets insurance. Signing up is easy , they have price plans for every situation, customer service has been top notch. Our dog had a serious surgery and we were able to focus on getting her the best care without worry that we wouldn’t be able to pay for what she needed.

My dogs are currently 12

My dogs are currently 12. I got Embrace policies for them as puppies, because I wanted them to have coverage when they were older. Embrace did allow me to see any vet and did pay the claims. If you are looking for pet insurance for a puppy, hoping it will carry protection when they are older, Embrace raised the cost of the policies such that it would cost $1,000+ more year to have pet insurance, on a max claim, than to not. I didn't catch this earlier, the higher premiums started when they were 9-10 but I didn't pause to do the math. I regret not going with a different pet insurance company from the start and want to warn others who are shopping for insurance for puppies. They told me it is not based on health conditions or claims- simply the age of the dog, breed of dog, and zip code. My recommendation shopping for pet insurance for a puppy is don't make my mistake- shop based on quotes for an older dog. There are other companies that offer reasonable plans for older dogs that, if I had gone with from the get go, I wouldn't have any concern of pre-existing conditions. Also, when Embrace offered the option of increasing the limits on the policy so that the high amount I was paying would make more sense (with a higher annual limit), pre-existing conditions would then be an issue. A customer service agent told me repeatedly that because my 12 year old dog had diarrhea as a puppy, which was cured with antibiotics, any disorder that could potentially have a symptom of diarrhea would not be covered- be wary of their interpretation/response to pre-existing conditions. What dog won't have diarrhea within it's lifetime?

Xena was very helpful> I did several…

Xena was very helpful> I did several things with her today and she was very capable in taking care of them. I had to put in a change of address. Add my new kitty to the policy. She advised me to take kitten in for a wellness check so we can make sure she is ok and doesn't have any pre-existing conditions. She sent me information on how to submit a claim. She was very patient and did an excellent job.
