Embrace is a scam

Embrace is a scam. Make sure you read all the fine print. Days after my 12 week old puppy got a clean bill of heath from my vet, I decided to be safe and get insurance. I signed up online, purchased my policy, and my Embrace profile showed that my policy was active and I read that if my pup had any conditions, Embrace would get the medical records from my vet after I filed a claim online. Seemed easy enough. The following month, my puppy began urinating frequently. I took her into the vet, who said that my puppy hadn’t grown out of her loose puppy skin and it likely caused a UTI. When I filed a claim for medications, Embrace said that I hadn’t taken my puppy to the vet for an examination after purchasing their insurance, even though she had an examination just days prior, so they used that day’s examination as her initial examination. They determined that my puppy’s UTI was a pre-existing condition based on this technicality or, as I call it, one of their traps. Now if my puppy grows up and has any problems down there, although unrelated, it’s not going to be covered. They would happily look at my puppy’s medical history if it benefited them, but they will exclude any previous evidence if they can. My puppy was just weeks old when she got her first exam! Nothing was pre-existing! Embrace knows it wasn’t a pre-existing condition, and they were taking my money while they were not insuring my pup.

Salesman Upsold me and Lied

So far, I have not had a good experience with Embrace. I was outright lied to by the salesman I spoke to prior to signing up. They claim they record phone calls, but when I reached out nobody was willing to go back to the call and verify what I was told. Because no pet insurance companies cover pre-exiting conditions, I feel like I'm stuck with them now because I'd have to start from square one with any other company. We're definitely stuck with them for a year, because I was given misinformation about the Wellness Rewards program. Be careful signing up for that because they can charge you for it if you want to cancel. I didn't even want it but the salesman upsold me and lied about it.
