How to Save Money at Noah's Ark Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ International Health Certificate (IHC) ♥️🐾✈️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Traveling with PETS abroad ✈️🐾 I don't even know where to begin to show my gratitude for this veterinarian. We contacted Noah's Ark Animal Hospital (which is also our regular vet) to see if they had any input on getting an An International Health Certificate (IHC). Which is a required document for traveling with pets internationally, ensuring they are healthy and free of diseases or parasites. We had a trip planned to Poland 🇵🇱 with a layover in Amsterdam, traveling via KLM airlines.✈️ We received an email back promptly from Armando Chavez, who ended up researching EVERYTHING! Not only did he put our minds at ease for the travel but he patiently and willingly answered every single email we had. We set up the appointment to begin the process. Everything went smooth and according to plan. Armando did not miss a beat, he kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. We didn't have any issues at the airport with any of the paperwork. Armando was even kind enough to let us know of extra documents needed coming back from Poland to the United States. I cannot recommend this veterinarian enough. They are extremly knowledgeable, patient and really on top of it all. We are clients for life and would recommend taking your pets here for anything necessary. This place deserves a million stars. ♥️♥️♥️♥️🐾

What a wonderful and caring place to take your pet! Texas A&M bragged to me about Dr Orengo who was a top graduate and remains at the top of her field. Kudos to the staff too. All around excellence!

Avoid at all costs: - Failure to manage medical records and multiple mistakes - Overcharging and ‘accidental’ charges added to bill - Failed to send prescription to pharmacy as promised, leaving our dog without pain relief - Treatment given was not effective and grossly under-treated our poor little dog who remains in pain and suffering I was recommended this vet by a client, but unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. There were multiple instances of sloppiness, overcharging, and inadequate management of our dog’s pain and discomfort. Initially, things looked promising. We were able to get a same-day appointment and were directed to a private room for our anxious dog. Communication was frustrating. At times it felt like they were addressing my mother rather than me, the owner. My mother does not know our dog well, having met her only twice. Age does not equal authority, and our concerns about our dog’s lack of sleep and appetite were not addressed at the appointment despite me bringing it up. Billing was another issue. We received an estimate that was already high, but at payment, the total was $100 higher due to errors, including an item we did not receive and an incorrect medication. A tiny discount (unspecified at the point of offer, but it was $8 when I looked) was offered as an apology, which felt insulting. The ‘highest estimate’ should reflect the maximum a client might be charged, and billing errors should not be passed on to the client. Pain management was entirely inadequate. Our dog was prescribed only three days of weak pain medication and remained in too much discomfort to eat, sleep, or potty normally. Follow-up calls were met with dismissive responses, such as “just give it till Monday,” despite our urgency. Refills and new prescriptions were eventually provided, but there was pushback about sending them out of house, and the cost was exorbitant in-house. We ended up pushing them to get 2 drugs sent to Costco for pickup, but they still charged us $105.16 for Entyce medication that is $78.69 for the same amount and dose on the Chewy Pharmacy. When we went to pickup the Costco prescription, we were told they had in fact never sent the prescription over, and our dog is now without pain relief thanks to the staff at Noah’s Ark who must really hate animals and are happy to see them suffer. The price gouging on medication is entirely unethical, and refusing when you want your prescriptions sent to another pharmacy is anti-competition and frankly un-American. I expect all the money we’ve spent at Noah’s Ark to be returned to me, or I will file a chargeback with my bank given they have utterly failed to deliver any competent of the service properly. Basic administrative errors compounded the frustration. Despite having scanned and sent all her medical history months prior, they requested paper records that were incomplete - then acted confused when paperwork they needed was not present. The portal even has her date of birth wrong, suggesting the records were not properly reviewed. Overall, during a stressful time for both our dog and us, this clinic did not meet basic standards of care or service. Once our dog is stabilised, we will be transferring her care elsewhere and will inform the client who recommended this vet about our experience. We saw Dr. Coleman, and I believe his dog usually sees Dr Orengo(?), so maybe that makes a difference, but that sloppy and actively dangerous admin suggests it’s a clinic wide issue.

Dr. O took care of my boxer crew when I lived in Houston. She is a phenomenal doc , so is her entire staff. . Thank you for always being so kind to my boxer babies, especially Shelby.

Dr Oregano has been my treasured veterinarian for almost 20 years. It is the only animal clinic I truly trust to give my pups the best care. They have the best staff, from the wonderful techs working behind the scenes to the reception staff, I always feel like my babies are in the right hands. Specifically, Iris, at the front desk, has really taken the time to get to know me & my pets & has helped guide me through a particularly difficult year with them. She is kind & compassionate & listens to my concerns even when she doesn’t have time. She has made a world of difference for me over the last year going above & beyond & making sure than we were taken care of. I am so grateful for the entire team I have caring for my precious dogs. They are truly part of my family & it wouldn’t be the same with them.
