How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Lone Star Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I love Dr. Moore! I have a problem child (a husky go figure) who constantly has fungal, bacterial, seizures, and other issues. She is always so conservative with her approach with treatment which I truly appreciate! My vet bills add up quickly with Boog so being in the care of a doctor who understands taking care of her clients from that angle is a breath of fresh air. I have taken my pups to many places over the years and Lone Star is by far our favorite. Chelsea, Megan, and the rest of Dr. Moore’s staff are always so warm and inviting (:

Dr. Moore is the kindest and most compassionate vet I’ve met. She does an incredible job of giving you as much or as little information as you need and recommending treatment and care that she would give to her own pets. Her staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to do whatever it takes to make our pets comfortable. I can’t recommend Dr. Moore and Lone Star Animal Hospital enough, we are so fortunate to have found them!

Dr. Moore and her staff at Lonestar are the absolute best! She has gone above and beyond for both my dogs, especially for Dexter, who was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Dr. Moore always explains in careful detail what is happening/ next steps. She and her staff have been excellent at allowing us to see a holistic vet and coordinating with our oncologist for Dexter’s ongoing care. They genuinely care and often go above and beyond for their patients and their families. Dr Moore and her Lonestar Team provide service that is always outstanding, professional, and kind! If you love your pets like family, take them to Lonestar!

Dr. Moore and her team provide the best vet care you can have for your animals. We have been taking our 3 cats to her for a few years and have always had an outstanding experience. She helped us get our sweet boy Dane, who has chronic respiratory issues, onto a protocol that has made it possible for him to run about and play with his siblings. But today... well today nearly brought me to tears. Dane is sometime a bit naughty at the vet. He has been known to talk (ok growl) through the entire appointment and maybe throw a hiss or two into the mix. Today, we did a safe, fear free, no restraint exam, blood draw, cystocentesis (urine draw) and two vaccines. Dr. Moore and her tech were calm, considerate and did everything they could to make Dane comfortable and it was magic. Rather than hiding under the bed when we got home, he got his treat then laid down in the middle of the floor to take a bath. I am one happy mama! Thank you Dr. Moore and your team - you are the best!

We love Dr Moore! She’s taken such good care of our two small dachshunds over the last few years. Her prices are fair and she’s such a calm presence for the nervous pups. Plus the office is clean and tidy - always. We’re patients for life.
