How to Save Money at Kingsdale Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We would like to start by saying that Kingsdale Animal Hospital is, by far, the best vet we have ever been to. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such care, professionalism, and kindness. A special thank you goes to Dr. Ashley Boultbee, along with Maryssa, Raegan, Stephanie, Nicole, and Emma for their exceptional care and support. Our 2 year old Lab, Kobe, had a very tough situation when he ate something he shouldn’t have and needed an Immediate Foreign Body Surgery. It was a stressful time for us as pet parents, but thanks to Dr. Boultbee and her amazing team, the process was much easier to navigate. They took the time to explain everything beforehand, thoroughly addressed all of our concerns, and ensured Kobe was in great hands. The follow-up care was equally outstanding, and we were kept informed at every step of the recovery process. We’ve visited a few other vets before Kingsdale, but none of them came close to the level of care and treatment we received here. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of the team, Kobe made a quick and smooth recovery, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We will forever be thankful to the entire team at Kingsdale for their compassionate care. We wholeheartedly recommend Kingsdale Animal Hospital to anyone in need of veterinary care. The team truly goes above and beyond! - Jonathan, Oliva, Kobe

I started going to Kingsdale about 5 years ago when I started taking care of a stray cat at my shop. Very knowledgeable and caring staff. Dr. Kramer has been fantastic with my cats to keep them happy and healthy. All members of staff are always eager to help out. Everything from annual vaccinations to emergency visits, they have treated my cats with care like no other. I highly recommend taking your pets there, honestly I refuse to take my pets anywhere else. Their care and compassion for your pets health is amazing and they are the reason why my cat Jake is still around. Within a hour of me calling a few years ago, they made space for my cat Jake’s emergency and they immediately did what they have to do to save him. Im lucky to have Kingsdale so close to my work in case anything arises. Jake, King, Mack and myself are extremely grateful for Kingsdale.

Words cannot describe the team at Kingsdale and the kindness and genuine care from Dr Kramer . She quite literally saved my dog Marley. We walked in yesterday with no appointment frantic because my dog was extremely sick all night and was having a severe fever and infection and was in rough shape. They took her in right away and checked her right up and recommended an emergency surgery. This was a life-saving surgery and had the team not act as fast as they could. We might’ve not got the infection in time. There recovery was absolutely amazing and the team was so supportive and so helpful to our feelings and our motion. It’s always very heartbreaking when you have to see your dog go under surgery and Marley being 14-year-old dog. The team worked a miracle and helped her and today she is so much better and back to her normal self. Thank you so much . Getting a check in call the following day to see that she was doing good and very thorough instructions with medication. Marley is thriving and we can’t wait to see your progress in the next two weeks. Thank you for saving my dogs life but thank you for just being so genuine, and so meticulous and working with so much integrity. Our fur friends are quite literally our family. We are so grateful!

Dr. Ashley Boultbee Saved my little Lebron’s life. When my 4 year old tea cup Pomsky had a severe heat stroke and I rushed him to his regular vet clinic where he had been visiting since he was 4 months old; However, they told me that they couldn’t do anything because they aren’t able to provide any emergency services even though it was very dangerous to send away a dog in that critical condition.( and It was around 2 pm, during the regular business hour ). They didn’t even bother to call or send a referral to the emergency... Fortunately we end up at Kingsdale animal hospital. Even though we weren’t even a patient there and had never been to the clinic prior, still Dr Boultbee and her team didn’t hesitate to start saving my dog’s life right away. After Lebron’s temperature started coming down and stabilized while he was kept hydrated with IV it was safe to transfer him to the emergency clinic for a more thorough evaluation. Dr. Ashley Boultbee made sure the emergency clinic was notified on my dog’s arrival and all the necessary information was sent in before we arrived. Critical moments like this really is a true test for the quality of a person, a business or an organization. I’m forever grateful for Dr. Ashley Boultbee and kingsdale animal hospital. Their dedication, knowledge and professionalism is unparalleled.

Every single staff member is a pleasure to deal with and you can really tell they care for and love animals! I’ve had nothing but one positive experience after the next for my kitten. Nicole is always so patient and understanding with my frequent phone calls. My kitten’s spay recovery was a breeze and they even let me bring her in for a follow-up at no additional charge. I’m getting a new kitten next week and feel at ease Knowing I have the caring and experienced staff on our side at Kingsdale.
