I can not believe the lack of accountability the staff have at this place. It has been 7 months as well as lots of follow ups on my behalf and I’m yet to hear back. Meanwhile Dr. Yogi from Broadway animal hospital is continuing to practice while potentially putting other animals lives at risk. He killed my dog during a routine spaid. She ending up bleeding to death internally according to the autopsy reports. Why does this college even exists if they are not looking into matters. I’m so disgusted and I am now looking into having lawyers look into this matter in order to get Justice for my fur baby

I have not visited this spot - but I am strictly posting about the case with the liscenced vet Mahavir Singh Rheki. I’m just reading up about this vet now. The fact that the OVC took literally almost no action against someone (back in 2017 and who may be continually practicing to this day) who was proven to have video evidence, pleaded guilty, and was reported by colleagues for animal abuse, is literally sickening. It definitely speaks to the moral and ethical practices that the college endorses. Rumours have it - this vet is still practicing to this day now in Manitoba. Have you done any follow-up on this guy since then? Cause if this college was serious about upholding the standards of practice they preech, then you should be doing ongoing check-ins to ensure no animal is ever treated in this gross manner ever again. Money shouldn’t be your driving force to ensure safety and well-being of animals.

In our opinion veterinarians should be government regulated. CVO seems prejudicial against the public & shows favor/bias towards vets. We felt we didn't get due process for us it was not fair or impartial. CVO never spoke with the victim's family or witnesses? We felt re-victimized. We think there should be an ombudsman to help protect the public also fair impartial independent members of the public should also be involved in reviewing every complaint filed against a veterinarian finally a whistle blower mechanism should be made available to the public and staff to safely report.

It seems to me that the CVO suffers from gross incompetence or outright corruption. If you are considering filing a complaint with the CVO, I must tell you that it will almost certainly be in vain. Snails put the bureaucracy at the CVO to shame - my family has submitted a complaint in January 2021 and the college has still yet to review our case. You will see below of many other experiences of communication issues with the CVO during the complaint process. I have followed up with Rose countless times and it seems to be the same excuse every time: 1. too many complaints, 2. too much COVID, 3. we'll get to you soon. I don't know why COVID is such an issue to reviewing cases at home or even the office especially at this stage in the pandemic. I assume that the organization has become dysfunctional over COVID or dragging their feet in protection of their licensed members. Either way, the process isn't worth your time. If you seek justice for your vet, I'm afraid you will probably not find it here. And unfortunately with our legal system viewing pets as property, the odds are stacked against pet owners in getting justice without risking thousands of dollars in legal advice or litigation. Losing our dog was a heartbreaking moment that I will never forget, and my experience with the complaint process has absolutely destroyed any confidence of the CVO having a shred of consideration for public interest.

Don't ever take your pets here! I was forced to because I had a severe case with my dog and every other animal hospital I took him to said they didn't have the proper equipment to care for him. They made me put down a $1000 deposit and he stayed in hospital for 2 days and they then told me there was nothing they could do for him and that I should euthanize him. I was so devastated and wanted to keep trying, but they said even if I spent $5000 there's nothing they could do. So I followed their advice as hard as it was. The vet then told me what my bill came to which was around almost $800 and the euthanization was like $150 I want to say... so I should've had more then enough to cover all of that. Then the next day they call me and said I owe them almost another $400!!! I couldn't believe it... I explained what I was just told the night before and they said the doctor didn't say that. I even asked to speak with the doctor ans she denied our whole conversation even though i had my dad and sister in the room with me when she said it! I should've gotten a receipt, but my dog just got euthanized and I was devastated... that wasn't even on my mind at that moment. Don't trust them!!! If you have to go there like in my situation get a receipt for every step of the way! They will try and cheat you as much as they can. This happened a couple years ago now... it took me a while to write this because I was too heart broken to keep thinking about it, but heard a horror story from my co-worker regarding this place as well so I had to come on here and tell my story. The reason I didn't want to take my dog there to start with was because I took my bearded dragon there years ago when she had a prolapse and they gave her too much anesthetic and killed her. I don't know how this place is still even open they're a bunch of crooks. Please if you can take your animal else where PLEASE DO!!!!
