How to Save Money at Toronto Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I was looking for a new vet in the area just over a year ago for my 12 now 13 year old cat TJ. Dr. Bick was outstanding with TJ, very personable and very honest regarding what was necessary for my cat's health. I have recently added a lab puppy (Leon) to the family and his first visit was with Dr. Harmeet who was also just outstanding, again very personable, honest and I didn't feel like I was dealing with a vet wanting to line their pockets. Not to be out shined the front desk staff (Anna) and the vet tech (Tyson) were very pleasant and definitely reduced Leon's anxiety while waiting for his turn to see the doctor. Great experience overall.

A Pawsitive Experience I recently took my nervous pup to the Toronto Veterinary Clinic for the first time, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The vet was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, quickly putting my dog at ease. It was heartwarming to see my usually anxious pet warm up to the vet and even accept treats! The staff was equally welcoming and professional, making us feel right at home. The clinic's convenient location, just a short distance from our home, is a huge plus compared to our previous 40-minute drive. The clean and well-organized clinic environment added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend the Toronto Veterinary Clinic to anyone seeking compassionate and expert care for their furry friend.

If you want honest, caring and professional veterinary care for your pet, look no further than Toronto Veterinary Clinic. After many years with another clinic, I made the switch when my last vet could not see my puppy for an emergency for 2 days. TVC immediately understood the situation and had me come over asap. We saw Dr. Harmett on that visit and then Dr. Bick this past week for her annual. Both doctors were amazing and the support staff excellent. Their tag line is “Passionate about Pets”, and they prove that every day.

The doctors here are so amazing. Our cat had an intestinal blockage and was in a very bad way, they shuffled their schedule and made an opening for surgery on site as it was an emergency situation and our cat likely wouldn't have made it another day. Our kitten has made a full recovery after that major intestinal surgery. Everyone at the clinic is so kind and concerned about our pets, it's clear they all really care about the animals they look after. The fees charged are also very fair compared to what we would have paid at the emergency hospital and certainly better than our previous clinic. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care my puppy received. He was struggling with severe allergies, and the vet went above and beyond to diagnose and treat the issue. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication were evident in every visit. They took the time to explain the treatment options and ensured my puppy was comfortable and well-cared for. Thanks to their efforts, my puppy is now happy and healthy. I highly recommend Dr. Bick to anyone in need of knowledgeable and compassionate care.
