How to Save Money at Belleville Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
They delete your records after 3 or 4 years of not being there. Which I think is kinda stupid your treated as a new patient every 3 or 4 year's and have to continuously have to pay to walk in the door, since they delete your records, cause you know they don't use a computer. i guess they are stuck in the 40's-50's like the people that work there probably been there since than, and like all belleville vets rip you off. My 15yo cat needed a tooth removal, of course said no payment plan, of course wanted to do blood work and all the unnecessary work to jack up the cost, if I didn't they only offered to put my cat down cause he was old....imagine getting put down cause your old..just like the people that work there....should be. 1 star permanently until the business changes ownership maybe it might be better or closes down one or the other.

This place should not be open for business my dog is now deeply terrified of her paws being touched by others and even us they "cut her nails" didn't even grind them down and handed our dog back to us with her wick being cut and her bleeding drops on the floor we said something and they argued with us for 10 minutes straight wouldn't even tell us who did the nails and tried making us pay for the service and then claimed it's because of her nails being neglected meanwhile we had the secretary pull up our file of us doing it 1 month beforehand so we ended up leaving with out dog still bleeding and the nails being cut so jagged and wrong. Tried calling back multiple times but the same lady kept answering and refused to put us on to the main vet I am so deeply angry and cannot believe a "vet" would do something so cruel you may not like us but you don't mistreat an animal for any reason she is the sweetest dog and you should be held accountable.

I'll never trust this vet again. My mom and i took our 13 year old cat Oliver to this vet a few years ago with kidney problems. One second they called me saying he was fine and improving the next minute they call me saying he has to be euthanized. They refused to let me say goodbye to him and blamed it on covid. I'll never really know what they did to my cat. Did they mess up and was he already gone and that is why they refused to let me see him? I want answers and justice for my sweet boy.

Took my cat in to get some blood work done. Lovely Nancy said it would be at least 200$. They kept him overnight, when I came into pick him up I was charged an additional 200 something for his deworming and the yearly stuff. No one mentioned this would be done during this visit, and they still didn't sound confident on what was wrong. Could he this, this or this... I just dropped 500$ and I still unsure. Nancy did offer payment options as I. Sure she could tell I was shocked to have an additional 200 slapped on my bill.

Dr Burns charged us almost 3k in treatment of a dying kitten. He did not focus on the primary issue and continued to rack up charges on treatment that should not have been performed on a kitten who was not well. I reported him and someone else did too apparently. Guilty, do NOT take your pets to this doctor.
