How to Save Money at Conway Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I have been a client of CVH for a while now. Care has been top notch and I always leave feeling that my animals have a personal place in the hearts of the staff. Today I had a crisis while I was out of town with one of my dogs who is in congestive heart failure and end-stage cancer. I phoned just as they were opening and within the hour they arranged for me to get everything I needed to make my pet comfortable and happy. Dr. Porter and his entire staff are known for always putting the animals first and today they proved it yet again . I am incredibly grateful.

Traveling with one cat from one country to another can be an adventure, but traveling with four is quite a challenge! I could not have done this without the help, advice and patience that the Conway team gave me from the first moment I contacted them. They were very meticulous regarding the documents that had to be presented to obtain the corresponding health certificate, and thus travel without problem from the United States to Peru. I especially want to thank Donna for always being attentive to all the paperwork, even when at some point we thought that the documents had been lost when I sent them by mail, she was willing to continue helping me by providing me with various solutions. Today my four babies and I are in Peru, and although the trip was long and somewhat stressful for them, without Conway's help it would not have been possible to travel. Thank you so much!! :)

We have been going to Dr. Porter for many years! Dr. Porter and his entire staff are amazing. He and his staff are more than exceptional, they are caring and they take such great care of our dogs every time were there. Dr. Porter is very kind and goes way beyond to make sure we are informed and understand everything. His office is the best and we love them!!! Buttercup and Chloe love them too!

I just started going to Conway Veterinary after decades at EOAH. Thrilled with CVH. The techs were companionate and caring, Dr. Porter was thorough and kept in VERY close touch. The office and I texted back and forth so there was no phone tag. I could take pictures of the issue of concern and send them to them. And frankly, I think their pricing is MUCH more reasonable than I have experienced in a long time. CVH is my new go-to. Little side note, but did you know that besides taking grate care of our furry babies and four-legged friends, Mr Bob Porter is also a beekeeper? Yeah!!! So if you ever need or find yourself or anyone you know, looking for recommendations for someone reputable and not an *exterminator* to remove honey bees, don't hesitate to give him a call. Save the bees!!!! 🐝🐝🐝

I just moved to Orlando and needed a new Vet for my dogs. My best friend recommended Conway Veterinary Hospital because she brings her dog here. I made an appointment for both of my dogs for September 21. The whole appointment process was seamless and the staff was phenomenal . They answered my questions and concerns regarding vaccinations etc. I am glad I brought my babies to CVH. I am a happy Dog Mom. Dr. Porter and staff are really caring.I highly recommend CVH
