How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We were at a loss with her regular veterinarians office being closed in our little girl was struggling with breathing hadn’t eaten or drinking in two days. Of course it has to be on a holiday weekend. We made a phone call to Blue Pearl and they assured us they would be there for us. We met so many kind and compassionate people there I cannot remember all the names. But first and foremost, Dr. Hines was very professional, compassionate, and gave us a great picture of what is going on. Baya was admitted. Dr. Hines stayed in touch with us that evening and the next day. We never felt that she was not getting the best care. She is home now, and I reached out to her regular doctor. He had already received the report from Blue Pearl. He assured us that we made the right choice taking her there, and he 100% agreed with the treatment that they gave her. Certainly hope I don’t have to have their services again but if ever there’s a need Blue Pearl is the only option for our animals.

Dr. Sages, Dr. Meredith and staff saved our sweet senior cat from kidney failure. Every staff member was extremely kind and gentle. Sean in reception was cool, calm and collected when we needed that and helped bring us back from panic. We will be recommending everyone to Blue Pearl for emergency pet needs. ETA: I’m editing this a month later. We brought our boy home for two days and he ended up not making it after all. But I want to specifically mention that it was something that would have happened no matter what we did. We knew when we took him home that we were on bonus time with him. Staff members and vets at Blue Pearl were incredibly kind and compassionate. Dr. Saages ended up being the vet to help him cross the rainbow bridge, and she was so kind and lovely. Everyone helped manage our expectations the entire time, from beginning to end. We wouldn’t have changed anything about our experience with Blue Pearl, except of course for our boy making it. We also got a very kind sympathy card from them. It was really the best experience to have had during that difficult time.

From the minute we walked in to the facility, we were impressed with everything. From the great crew greeting you when you walk in (Jesse, Amanda, Sean) to seeing the doctor ( Dr. Ferrell is the best!) and his assistants ( Cindy and Jessica are awesome), we were so happy we went to BluePearl hospital. Our dog broke her leg and Dr. Ferrell took care of everything. We never worried or questioned his recommendation and advice. We always felt cared about and compassion. Any calls I made were answered immediately with the appropriate staff member. Every email sent was responded to quickly by the doctor himself. Just a wonderful caring place.

My little pug went into diabetic keto acidosis and had to be hospitalized for a day and a half. From the minute we walked in (with no appointment ) we were given excellent and immediate attention. Dr. Heinz was so communicative that I felt like Norman must have been his only patient. All the staff was friendly and helpful. This is an amazing place!!! A++++++++

It's hard to describe how wonderful BluePearl Pet Hospital is. They treated us like family as soon as we walked through the door. The vet assistant, Alexis, was so in love with our little pug, I thought she would steal her away. Our minds were put at ease with her, and with Dr. Meredith. We highly recommend BluePearl Pet Hospital and really can't thank them enough for their warm and professional courtesies.
